Dear Parents / Carers 18th March 2016

Students have recently sat their second round of mock examinations (‘Pre-Public Exams’) and should now be focused on their ‘targets for improvement’ and be working towards their final GCSE examinations, which start in May.

In continuing to support your child and to ensure that they achieve their true potential, we have arranged for various revision and study support sessions throughout the Easter holiday period and on each Saturday morning thereafter. Students should also continue to attend revision classes provided after school.

Attendance at Faculty revision sessions is by invitation only and you will receive separate letters from Heads of Faculty if this applies to your child. Please see over for details.

In the second week of the Easter holiday (4th – 8th April), and on each subsequent Saturday morning, the Study Zone will take place. This offers students a quiet space to continue with their own revision for each of their subjects, with teachers to support. The Study zone will be open from 10 am to 1pm.

It is important that the Study Zone is an environment conducive to study and the expected conditions of attendance are as follows:

Terms and Conditions of the Study Zone 1. Students attending are required to bring their own revision material and a personal revision plan for each session. 2. Lanyard and ID required 3. No phones or electronic equipment are allowed 4. Refreshments will be provided. 5. All attendees are expected to be focused on their work; students who do not will be asked to leave.

Finally, all year 11 students will be given a ‘Passport to the Prom’ which contains pages for students to get signed by the relevant member of staff at each revision and Study Zone session. Each box signed evidences their attendance and effort and will equate to Vivo points which can be used towards paying for Year 11 Prom tickets.

Again, it has been a pleasure to work worth you in supporting your child throughout this year. It is vital that students make effective use of the time left in school. I anticipate your continuing support, and look forward to the summer when students will be receiving exam results that reflect their conscientious application to their studies and all of our efforts in supporting them.
