Course communications -- Similar to other accounting online courses, we intend to use Web CT including the discussion forum and the internal email system to facilitate communication. Additionally, we will offer lecture notes and other instructional material online to facilitate delivery of Cost Accounting. Textbook website instruction material available to students includes PowerPoint slides, quizzes, flash cards, etc. Homework will be submitted using Word and Excel.

Methods of assessment/evaluation -- Students will complete required homework, individual and group exercises, spreadsheet exercises and period quizzes. Students will also complete an interim (s) and a final exam. A proctored final exam may be given at the instructor’s discretion.

Expectations of students Assigned homework, quizzes, spreadsheet exercises, individual and group projects should be complete in a timely manner. Online interim examination(s) and a final examination will be completed. Students are expected to maintain a presence in the class by logging into the class website frequently and participating in the class discussion forum. Students are expected to promptly communicate concerns and problems to the instructor and to participate in an evaluation of the course.

Required technologies – All students will need a reliable Internet connection or access to on-campus computers.

Required materials – Textbook as specified by the instructor

Required competencies – Basic Windows application abilities including Word and Excel skills are required. Email skills are also required.
