IHCA ICAL 2015 NAHCA Conference scholarship program

The IHCA ICAL has a strong partnership with the National Association of Health Care Assistants (NAHCA) to develop, educate and support Iowa’s health care assistant workforce including certified nursing assistants, certified medication aides, home health aides, hospice aides, rehabilitation/restorative aides and universal workers.

In IHCA ICAL’s continuing effort to build a strong workforce, the IHCA Foundation is pleased to offer scholarships to IHCA ICAL member organizations committed to sending at least two health care assistants to the NAHCA National Conference, June 10-11, 2015, in Des Moines, IA. Each member organization selected will receive $300 to put toward conference registrations for two attendees. A total of 65 $300 scholarships are available.

Scholarship criteria and information

IHCA and ICAL member organizations wishing to apply must meet the following criteria to be eligible.

 At the time of application and at the time scholarships are awarded, the applicant nursing facility, assisted living program, home health agency, residential care facility, or senior housing community, must be an IHCA or ICAL member in good standing.  Scholarship recipients must commit to send at least two health care assistants currently employed at their organization to the 2015 NAHCA National Conference, June 10-11, 2015, in Des Moines, IA.  The scholarship will be paid to the recipient member organization after IHCA ICAL confirms that at least two of their health care assistant employees attended the conference. Organizations can expect to receive the $300 scholarship approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the conference. Each member organization is eligible to receive only one scholarship.

To apply for the scholarship, please complete the application on the following page, including a summary of the organization’s commitment to supporting its health care assistant workforce.

The Iowa Council of Health Care Assistants will judge qualified applications. Recipients will be notified by May 11, 2015.

Applications must be received in the IHCA ICAL Office by April 27, 2015. They can be mailed to IHCA ICAL, 1775 90th Street, West Des Moines, IA 50266-1563 or sent via email to [email protected] or faxed to 515.978.2209.

Terms of agreement I certify that the information provided here is true and accurate. I understand that my organization is responsible for paying the NAHCA Conference registration fees and any associated costs (meals, lodging, travel).
