In 38 1910, at the age of fiftythree, Lord Baden-Powell retired from a 39 highly successful career as a scout in the British army to give his 40 attention to this work; and 41

[3823] 2 1 Whereas, as an outgrowth of the Scout Movement in England and 2 with the endorsement of the Chief Scout of the World, Lord 3 BadenPowell, the Boy Scouts of America was formed in 1910, and 4 for a century, it has shaped future leaders of America by 5 combining educational activities with lifelong values and fun; and 6 7 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of 8 Representatives are grateful for the legacy of Scouting in America 9 and take great pride in acknowledging the accomplishments of 10 young South Carolinians like Kenneth Thomas Fincannon who 11 selflessly give of their time, talents, and energy to enrich their 12 local communities and our State. Now, therefore, 13 14 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 15 16 That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, 17 by this resolution, recognize and honor Kenneth Thomas 18 Fincannon for his noteworthy achievements in the Boy Scouts of 19 America, and congratulate him upon achieving the prestigious rank 20 of Eagle Scout, the highest award in Scouting. 21 22 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to 23 Kenneth Thomas Fincannon. 24 XX 25
