Optimal Drinking time: Now - 2020

WINEMAKER’S NOTES

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is the fourth release in our line-up of distinguished Cabernets. The grapes for the 2006 vintage came primarily from the Oak Knoll, Yountville and Calistoga districts. This Cabernet Sauvignon was blended to have complex flavors and good structure. To achieve this in the 2006 vintage, we blended Cabernet Sauvignon lots from several different Napa Valley sub appellations along with five percent Cabernet Franc from South Napa. The Cabernet Franc component brings additional texture, elegant tannins, bright fruit and spice to the final blend.

TASTING NOTES

This well-structured Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas and flavors of black current, huckleberry, black berry, citrus peel and rose. The complex fruit is accented with cassis, nutmeg, coffee and dark chocolate. This wine has a balanced palate with sweet fruit and layers of complexity followed with a long finish.

A good food wine, serve this wine to compliment prime rib, mushroom risotto, duck comfit or a gruyere soufflé.
