Reports to: General Manager

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide the Manawatu Hockey community with clean, safe, and well maintained grounds and facilities. To ensure that the grounds and facilities provided are of an appropriate standard to meet the needs of all hockey participants, supporters, and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Relevant industry experience Maintenance Officer Schedule

Maintenance Jobs Turf rubbish on turf and perimeter concrete strips damage - esp top of circle and stroke spots use water blaster carefully on turf if required clean drains and sump holes in corners check/repair turf fences and gates treat turf for algae growth/slipperiness at least once a year

Goals damage - net rods and wheels and wheel operating bars backboards and sideboards - replace when timber splits and spreads check high safety nets behind goals, esp attachment of high rope nets

Dugouts check lights, sensors leaky taps probably need waterblast only on 3 monthly basis or a/r

Rubbish Empty inside bins Empty outside bins

Changing Rooms toilet rolls, hand towels, soap treat slippery floors leaks - showers, toilets, basins blocked toilets/urinals

Mow lawns when required tidiness under perimeter fences - may need some spraying if contractors not trimming regularly line trimmers and mowers need to be within a couple of days of each other

Signage secured properly to fence

Building exterior waterblast concrete blocks where needed spray wooden decks with Wet & Forget to remove slipperiness during wet months check condition of seating check for broken/cracked windows pathways - check the irrigation system access hatches in footpaths are flush with surface and not creating a trip hazard

Water system check pumps are not running continuously but not pumping water - blocked filter and very hot pump/pipes! easy swivel operation on all guns complete clean-out annually (December) of main collection/settling tank and inspection (clean if necessary) of the two round concrete tanks and the main distribution tank. be alert for ground leaks around the turfs, indicating leaks in the irrigation system - call Water Dynamics immed.

Lighting System turf security lights programme/function correct, bulbs good Montrose boxes - cracked/black/leaking white, cylindrical capacitors - call ESL to replace asap - cobwebs, moisture - security latches working properly - need regular CRC

General maintenance water heating system - operating correctly, storage areas intact/secure, pipes in good condition, no gas leaks garage/workshops - manage use of; tidiness; security/alarm; rodent control; inspection of stored items to ensure in good condition perimeter - condition of all fencing and gates, padlocks - note and report any damage to fences. Keep a good eye on fencing and turf incursions by non-authorised persons. Maintenance Officer Schedule
