1. Discussion about ideas for the WHI Extension 3 – 2015-2020.

Suggestions included:

 New biospecimen and exposure collection. More comprehensive data for longitudinal cohort. Long Life Study small subset that goes deep but WHI Extension should also include broad update on all exposure data. WHI study population continues to change with aging which needs to be assessed so the cohort can continue to provide meaningful analysis with up to date exposure assessment.

 Collect biospecimen by participant or through their primary care provider/managed care environment, more cost effective vs. study center visit.

 Microbiome, include urine collection for all study participants.

 Study smaller number of participants and collect biospecimen on an annual basis.

 CMS Data: Purpose – billing not research, lacks some details and exposure information, delay in obtaining data vs. WHI Outcomes, loss of lifestyle data

 Partner with Industry Using WHI GWAS data

1. WHI Imputation Update

Ulrike (Riki) Peters provided the update from Shuo Jiao.

In addition to WHIMS, GARNET imputation to 1000 genomes is done. 4,803 samples The Hip fracture GWAS set is left to do. Expect imputation to be done by May, with additional time needed to put data sets together and QC’s and some formatting. We continue to aim to have the data available in this summer. The next conference call will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.
