15th February 2017 Dear Parents,

Year 2 Visit to Llandudno, 13 th July & 14 th July 2017

Year 2 children are being given the opportunity to go on a residential visit to Llandudno this year.

The cost of the overnight visit including all transport, accommodation and food (apart from a packed lunch on the Thursday) will be £75. I am sure you will agree this is a very good price for the programme we are following. We would ask for a £25.00 deposit in the first instance to confirm your child’s space. This must be paid by Friday 3rd March when we will confirm numbers with the hostel. Unfortunately we cannot book a space for your child unless you have paid the deposit. All deposits are non-refundable. The remaining two payments will need to be paid on the 1st April £25.00 and 1st May £25.00. All payments, including deposits must be paid via ParentPay.

The programme for the two days will be based around outdoor activities in Llandudno. Children will be taking part in the following activities: a tram ride up the Great Orme, a trip to the copper mine, a sandcastle competition on the beach, Punch and Judy show, big art on the beach, ice cream and chip eating! We will be staying at the Llandudno Hostel which has accommodated school parties for many years and which we were very happy with when we visited in 2015 and 2016. The bedrooms are small with four to five beds in each room. Staff rooms are on the same floor as the children. The ratio of staff to children will be 1:5. The food is excellent and there is plenty of choice for any fussy eaters! On the Thursday children will leave school at 9.15am and we will be returning to school by 5.15pm approximately on the Friday afternoon.

I am very much aware that this is a visit which some parents get quite anxious about. Please let me take this opportunity to assure you that we will be working hard to make this a memorable experience for your child. We will be vigilant at all times and your child will be given a group leader who they will be with throughout the visit. If any parents have any concerns or who would like any questions answered please get in touch with me at school. We will also be holding a short meeting at 9.00am on Tuesday 28th February to give more information about the trip.

I need to know definite numbers for the visit by the 3rd March. I would therefore be grateful if parents could fill in the attached form and return it to school as soon as possible irrespective of whether your child is attending or not. Children not attending will participate in a project based on their current topic.

Yours sincerely

B Gleave
