LOAVES & FISHES MINISTRIES, INC. AUGUST 2017 CALENDAR

Client Recognition: Probably all our dining room volunteers are familiar with Bruce. Bruce is always at Loaves and Fishes – daily – to get food and to help with cleaning as a volunteer. We want you to recognize a change in Bruce’s situation at Loaves and Fishes. Bruce will still be coming in and eating, and enjoying time with his friends at the table. However, he will not be cleaning here anymore. Bruce is not to be behind the steam table at any time, and he is not to be seen as a “helper” for volunteer needs. Bruce is to be served when he sits down, as are all clients at Loaves and Fishes. He will now be leaving right after he finishes his meal. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in making this transition a smooth and comfortable change. Thanks very much.

Please Note: We’ve noticed that some of our volunteers are eating at the steam table. Often a small serving is put in a Styrofoam bowl and then eaten at the steam table. This is NEVER OK! When we eat, chew gum, suck candy, etc. saliva can be shared too easily. Eating anywhere in the service area is one of the Health Department’s most rigidly applied rules. You are welcome to share food and your time together from 12:45 to 1:00 PM, but you must sit at a dining table and enjoy. Thanks!
