Advance Notice of Trade Fair BAU 2013

PRESS RELEASE

Advance notice of trade fair BAU 2013 Create the FUTURE together with us! Gretsch-Unitas at BAU 2013

In keeping with our motto Create the future with us, the Gretsch-Unitas Group presents the latest developments in the areas of automatic entrance systems and door and window technology in Hall C4 Stand 339. Gretsch-Unitas products combine state-of-the-art engineering Visit us in and user-friendliness. Building security, barrier freedom, Hall C4, Stand 339 aesthetic design and sophisticated functionality are brought together in innovative comprehensive solutions.

Functional facades – Uncompromising system solutions Automatic entrance systems from GU Automatic GmbH beautifully harmonise with modern facades and provide ultimate ease of use. Featuring state-of-the-art security technology, the systems achieve burglar inhibition up to RC 3. (Fig. 1)

Individual window solutions in a facade such as, e.g. pitched windows using the fully concealed UNI-JET CONCEALED Tilt&Turn hardware (now also available for aluminium windows) enable the implementation of modern architectural requirements.

Page 1 / 3 Focus on the project door – Innovative escape door modules reducing the number of system components Fig. 2: The electrically lockable touch bar with the FTNT 10 escape door control system Escape doors guarantee access to a safe zone in emergencies, especially in complex building structures. The technical solutions for escape doors provided by the Gretsch-Unitas Group range from the classic panic lock through to complex mechatronic solutions which can also be integrated into building management systems. As the industry leader in escape door locks, BKS combines panic hardware, escape door locking technology and escape door control systems in the innovative EVP and EVT escape door system packages. All components can be networked and controlled via the BKS NET door bus interface. This provides maximum burglar protection without compromising personal safety in a panic situation. (Fig. 2)

The modern house entrance door – an interplay of components The GU house entrance door concept combines lock, data transmission and door control by finger scanner or code keypad in a unique way. The new concept is based on the proven GU- Fig. 3: The GU house entrance door concept – installation SECURY Automatic multi-point lock, which makes manual variant in door leaf locking unnecessary with its automatic latchbolts. The new system renders individual components, such as the power supply unit, control unit, lock control and cable duct unnecessary because these functions are already integrated into the SECUREconnect power and data transmission unit. The modular principle ensures the best possible retrofitability and adaptability of future access control technologies, while offering the benefit of an unchanging installation position in the door (Fig. 3).

Page 2 / 3 Fig. 4: Unlimited scope for architectural design with the new Gretsch-Unitas Fold&Slide hardware Unlimited scope for architectural design – Comfort and elegance with more space and light The new Fold&Slide hardware by Gretsch-Unitas provides a combination of many different benefits in one solution. Maximum opening widths, fewer sashes due to the higher sash weights (up to 130 kg) which are now possible, optimised running qualities and very easy operation thanks to ball-bearing supported wheels make the new Fold&Slide hardware generation stand out. Depending on the profile system, this hardware is also suitable for barrier-free use. In terms of burglar inhibition, the hardware system offers the highest level of security (Fig. 4).

When it comes to using Parallel-Slide hardware in projects with Fig. 5: The new Parallel-Slide hardware by Gretsch-Unitas constantly changing users, the new P-S hardware system from Gretsch-Unitas stands for enhanced operational safety and ease of use. Even without the power control feature, the hardware system enables the implementation of balcony-door elements with still larger sash widths and higher sash weights. Hereby, the functional principle of the hardware itself ensures its appropriate operation and the safe use of the door. This prevents damage to the hardware, the element and the structure. Moreover, the outstanding quality of the hardware ensures its durability and faultless functioning. (Fig. 5)

Convincing locking systems – Farseeing, innovative concepts

In its function as additional access point within a master key system, the new SE lock combines the benefits of electronic Fig. 6: The lock as access point within a master key system with freely selectable hardware. cylinders and wall readers with those of an innovative locking system. The special feature: the lock itself turns into an access point within a master key system. The access rights of transponders are stored in the lock, the lock can be activated directly and the door opened with the transponder which means a free choice of hardware. The SE lock can be used optimally in conjunction with other electronic or mechatronic access points (e.g. SE double knob cylinders) within a master key system – offline, online or virtually networked. Page 3 / 3 Professional door engineering – Interface problems solved

The importance of door engineering is often underestimated Fig. 7: DOOR-ENGINEERING for the during overall planning. Architectural, design and organisational perfect door solution. The new guidelines as well as fire protection, security, barrier freedom consultation service by Gretsch-Unitas for and appropriate escape route requirements make doors a architects and planners. complex cross-trade construction element: the door becomes a highly complex planning task. The new Gretsch-Unitas Door-Engineering concept offers a reliable tool for the planning of door systems which takes into account the interfaces between architecture, specialist planning and fabrication. Within the scope of this new professional planning service, the GU project team creates door type descriptions and configuration proposals for you. (Fig. 7)
