6. Major topics covered: Design and construction of Bridges, Tunnels and Roads in inaccessible areas mainly in hilly terrain. The problems in such areas are unavailability of suitable construction materials, heavy construction equipment, limited construction period, much time taken for movement to and fro. These things demand use of available material, different method of construction, adoption of suitable type of construction methodology and technology and so on, which are different than the usual adopted for plain and accessible areas. Further, the land slides, rock falls make the situation worst.

7. Lessons learnt: The speakers explained the actual situations at site from their experiences right from planning to execution and operation stages. Some presented case histories. The various difficulties and solution adopted for a particular situation were shared.
