DIOCESE OF CHEYENNE
JUNE 19, 2014 DIOCESAN DAY OF PRAYER FOR PRIESTLY VOCATIONS On June 20, 2014, Deacon Bob Rodgers and Deacon Brian Hess will be ordained to the priesthood. In anticipation of this day, the people of the Diocese of Cheyenne will offer a day of prayer, sacrifice and thanksgiving. We will offer sacrifices and prayers for those to be ordained, that their priestly ministry may bear much fruit for the glory of God and the wellbeing and holiness of God’s people. We will offer sacrifices and prayers this day that those whom God is calling to priesthood will hear His call and answer with generous and loving hearts. We will offer sacrifices and prayers for parents, that they will encourage and support sons to follow God’s call in their lives. We will offer sacrifices and prayers for parish families, that they be vibrant communities of faith, calling forth the gifts of each member, particularly raising up new priests to serve this local portion of the People of God. We will offer sacrifices and prayers for all members of this Diocese of Cheyenne, that we will be sensitive and cooperative with God’s call to holiness in each of our lives. We will offer prayers of thanksgiving to God for all of our seminarians to persevere in discernment and formation. We will offer sacrifices and prayers that by the Fall of 2015 we will have 15 seminarians, and by the Fall of 2020, we will have 20 seminarians. In The Heart of Christ,
The Most Reverend Paul D. Etienne, DD, STL; Bishop of Cheyenne
They appointed presbyters for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, commended them to the Lord in whom they had put their faith. (Acts 14:23)
