PACONS Executive Board Meeting Minutes January 26, 2005 Fox Chase Cancer Center Philadelphia, PA

I. Called to order 6:45 PM Attendance: Suzy Walker, Cynthia Briola, Trish Gambino, Jean Holland, Sandy Magee-Evans, Carolyn Grande, Lori Harmer

II. Review of Minutes from last meeting—Minutes accepted

III. Report of Officers A. President—Jean Holland (See Old Business/New Business) B. Secretary—Suzy Walker 1. Pictures from December meeting provided for website posting 2. Donations of sheets/towels presented to Sacred Heart Home December 2004 C. Treasurer—Sandy Magee-Evans 1. $9,385 in treasury D. Directors-at-Large 1. Cynthia Briola a. Website continuously updated b. Encourage PACONS members to register on website to receive email updates c. Will post job listings/professional accomplishments on website d. Will now accept advertisements for website i. Pharmaceutical ads at same rate as newsletter; posted for 30 days ii. Educational offerings posted for free e. Attended ONS Institute of Leadership and subsequently will spearhead project to promote student mentoring/professional nursing organizations 2. Carolyn Grande a. Continues to pursue spirituality projects i.Will speak on spirituality at ACS cancer survivors program in April 2005 ii. Received grant with Lori Harmer to pursue spirituality internship b. Liz Prechtel—Absent

IV. Committee Reports A. Program Committee—Trish Gambino 1. Has recruited new committee members 2. To consider more diverse topics but sponsorship may be an issue 3. To consider inviting a different school of nursing to each meeting B. Membership Committee—Terrie Cannon (Absent) C. Newsletter Committee—Lori Harmer 1. Articles due 2-11-05 2. Recruiting new committee members E. Nominating Committee—Mary Magee (Absent)

V. Old Business A. Chapter Manual Update B. President’s Award 1.Three applicants 2.Board to email Jean Holland with selections once applications reviewed C. Student Nurse Involvement D. Community Involvement 1.Crossing the Finish Line—Many PACONS members made donations to annual charity auction January 2005 2. Sacred Heart Home

VI. New Business A. Chapter Awards—Newsletter and Membership B. Annual Report—due at end of January 2005 C. ONS Foundation Silent Auction—$75 donated E. ELNEC (End of Life Conference)—two members have requested applications F. ONS dues—have now increased to $93 annually G. Strategic Plan
