In consideration of my application being accepted, I hereby for myself, my executors, administrators and assignees, agree to abide by all RULES AND REGULATIONS pertaining to The Evergreen Rodeo Royalty Program, i.e. Miss Evergreen Rodeo or The Evergreen Rodeo Princess. I assume all liability and responsibility for any loss, accident or injury, whether as to property or person, arising in any way with operations or activities of the Evergreen Rodeo Association in any event, performance or activity representing the Evergreen Rodeo. I further agree to indemnify your committee and management from and against any loss or damage sustained by you by reason of any claims made by any of my executors, administrators, or assignees. I hereby release the right, title and claim of all photographs taken by The Evergreen Rodeo Association and or its affiliates for their use.

Application must be signed and notarized for full acceptance. Upon signing this Document it is understood any contestant chosen to represent The Evergreen Rodeo Association is responsible for traveling to events. Upon acceptance of title honors in the Evergreen Rodeo Association, said Royalty Committee and Board of Directors of the Evergreen Rodeo Association will monitor representation made on behalf of The Evergreen Rodeo Association. At such time that any representative chosen cannot keep said obligations, an alternate will be chosen by The Evergreen Rodeo Association Royalty Committee to assume the position.

Our mission is to select an ambassador of good will and integrity who will promote the Evergreen Rodeo, the community, and the western way of life.

ROYALTY CONTESTANT ELIGIBILITY

 Miss Evergreen Rodeo contestants- Must be a single female between the ages of 17 and 24 years of age during her reigning year.

 Evergreen Princess contestants- Must be a single female between the ages of 14 and 17 years of age during her reigning year.

 Permanent resident of Colorado and reside within 100 miles of Evergreen, CO.

• Provide proof of age (birth certificate or driver's license).

 Currently be enrolled in an approved educational institution OR have previously

obtained a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Have not been previously married or pregnant.

• Own a horse and trailer or have a lease agreement for the use of a horse and trailer and be able to trailer your horse to all required events.

 Have executed all consents and paperwork required. Provide one snap shot (head and shoulders) along with completed entry.

CONTESTANTS WILL BE JUDGED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS DURING THE COURSE OF THE ROYALTY COMPETITION

Speech – Attire: Dress or skirt with long sleeve shirt/blouse, Western felt hat and boots. Contestants will be required to give a short speech (1 – 3 minutes) on a topic provided by the committee in a public forum setting.

Impromptu Questions – Attire: Dress or skirt with long sleeve shirt/blouse, Western felt hat and boots. Contestants will be required to answer 1 – 2 questions in a public forum.

Written Test – Performance: Each contestant will be required to complete a written exam on rodeo knowledge.

Parade – Attire: Colored Wrangler Jeans, Western long sleeve shirt/blouse, Western felt hat and boots, chaps are optional. Performance: Each contestant will be required to ride their horse in the Evergreen Rodeo Parade. Appearance – Attire: Dress or skirt with long sleeve shirt/blouse, Western felt hat and boots. Performance: Each contestant will be judged on appearance, poise, etiquette, and social interaction.

Personal Interview – Attire: Western Dress or Suit, Western felt hat and boots. Performance: Each contestant will participate in a personal interview with all the judges, where they will be asked questions on any topic from rodeo, personal views and current events.

Horsemanship – Attire: Colored Wrangler Jeans, long sleeve shirt/blouse, Western felt hat and boot. Chaps are optional. Performance: Each contestant will ride their horse and perform the pattern established and set by the committee. Each contestant will also be required to perform a flag run.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES

Responsibilities of The Evergreen Rodeo Royalty include learning about and promoting the Evergreen Rodeo Association as well as the Evergreen community. Contestants are not required to own a horse, but are required to provide a horse to be used during judging.

If you win the title you will need a horse and trailer for traveling to different rodeos. No stallions are allowed. If for some reason, the young lady chosen as queen or princess cannot fulfill her duties the Royalty Committee will appoint an eligible candidate to assume the title.

TITLE

Contestants must be single and have not been married and/or pregnant at any time previous to the competition. Contestants shall remain free of any questions involving an issue of morality. Consumption of alcohol or use of tobacco is not allowed while the queen and contestants are representing the Evergreen Rodeo Association. Use of illegal drugs or involvement in any illegal activity will not be tolerated and will be grounds for immediate disqualification.

AWARDS

The Contestant winning the title of Miss Evergreen Rodeo will receive a custom belt buckle; a crown and sash for their use (to be returned at end of rein) and a $500 scholarship paid to the educational institution of her choice.

The Evergreen Rodeo Princess will receive a custom belt buckle; a sash and tiara for her use (to be returned at end of rein).

Both winners will enjoy the benefits of travel, glamour and the excitement that are part of Professional Rodeo. They will meet and befriend rodeo stars, officials, fans, sponsors and royalty from rodeos across the state. OBLIGATIONS

The Queen shall be required to appear publicly as Miss Evergreen Rodeo and will represent the Evergreen Rodeo Association from June 19, 2016 to June 18, 2017.

During her reining year attendance will be required at all events during the Evergreen Rodeo weekend as well as fund-raising events sponsored by the Evergreen Rodeo Association throughout the year in addition to select parades, promotional activities, and outreach opportunities.

The Evergreen Rodeo Princess will represent the Evergreen Rodeo Association as Princess from June 19, 2016 to June 18, 2017.

Additionally, the princess will be required to attend:  National Western Stock Show  Elizabeth Stampede  Douglas County Fair and Rodeo  Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo

DRESS CODE

Apparel for all phases of judging will be western attire including colored jeans or skirt, collared long sleeved shirt, belt, and western boots and western felt hat. Chaps are optional for horsemanship judging, parade, and during presentation at the rodeo. The young lady who wins the title of Miss Evergreen Rodeo or Evergreen Rodeo Princess will be required to be in appropriate attire when representing the Evergreen Rodeo. Hat, crown, buckle, sash, western boots, western felt hat must be worn at all rodeo events and appearances. Depending on the function she may wear western jeans, skirts, dresses, vest or jackets. Long sleeved shirts or blouses will be worn with all outfits that require it. Jeans will be pressed, no faded or ripped jeans will be allowed. Appropriate western boots with be worn with no high heeled or lace up boots.
