2014-2015 HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON COMMUNICATIONS FELLOWSHIP GEORGETOWN INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY

The Hillary Rodham Clinton Communications Fellowship will provide an opportunity to a bright, motivated and dedicated recent graduate to be based at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security in Washington, D.C. The Institute recognizes that in this global age of instant and constant information, messaging is key and raising awareness about not only the Institute's work but, more broadly, women, peace and security issues is fundamental to creating a more gender-equitable world in which women can and do serve as agents of peace and security.

The Communications Fellow will be responsible for: - Writing and publishing op-eds on timely and newsworthy topics related to women, peace and security in print and online outlets that highlight critical developments, changes, challenges, etc. in the field - Maintaining a blog on behalf of the Institute - Collating and producing a daily internal news brief - Collating and produce the monthly Institute newsletter WomenPeaceWire - Participate in implementing GIWPS external partnerships that focus on raising awareness through digital platforms including Google Cultural Institute - Assist with social media outreach and digital strategy development

Successful candidates will have: - Excellent written and oral communications skills - A strong academic record - A graduate degree in political science, international relations, journalism or a related field with a demonstrated interest in and commitment to women’s advancement in peace, security and development (to be eligible, applicants must be in their final semester of graduate school or be no more than five years past receiving their graduate degrees) - Familiarity with content management systems, communications software and graphic design technology is preferred but not required - International experience is preferred but not required

Each year long, full-time fellowship will be for $45,000. This will be administered in a monthly stipend form and will not include medical, retirement or other benefits.
