PURCHASE AGREEMENT AND DEPOSIT
This is to confirm that I have contacted Prairie Springs Ranch to confirm that the beef I am requesting will be available this fall.
By signing this, I (purchaser) agree to purchase ______(either ½ or ¼) beef on the hoof from Prairie Springs Ranch(seller). This is “home-grown”, grass-fed beef from the ranch or one of its nearby neighbor/partners who share principals in feeding, possibly bulls, hay, and hay cutting equipment. The animals will be Chiangus or Angus cross breed. In understand I am welcome to visit the ranch by appointment to see the animals for verification.
The price of the beef will be $2.95 per pound measured by hanging weight. Standard cut and wrap is included in this price. An approximate 50% deposit is required to secure the order and schedule the butcher. The deposit required for a quarter beef is $250. The deposit required for a half beef is $450. The balance will be due no later than 7 days after slaughter based on actual hanging weight. Deposits may be refunded upon request prior to slaughter, or by the producer if there have been too many orders to fulfill. Deposits on confirmed orders are NON-REFUNDABLE after slaughter. If the balance is not received within 7 days after slaughter, a late fee of $50 will be added to the bill on a quarter, $100 for a half.
I am required to contact the meat-cutter with instructions and preferences as soon as possible, and certainly within 7 days after slaughter. If I fail to do so, I agree to receive “standard cuts” of beef. I am responsible for picking up my beef from the locker when it is done, within 5 days of cutting and wrapping unless delivery arrangements are made with the seller. The meat cannot be picked up without final payment being made prior to Prairie Springs Ranch being confirmed with the butcher. Neither the producer nor the butcher is responsible for meat left longer than 5 days after cut and wrap. Cut and wrap will occur 14 days after slaughter. After this time it will be at the discretion of the seller to forfeit the meat and or deposit unless other arrangements have been made.
I understand that I am entering into a good-faith agreement with the producer and seller, and that every effort will be made to meet my satisfaction, however I agree to hold harmless the seller, producer, and butcher for any reason other than failure to fulfill the order.
I am enclosing my deposit of______($250 or $500) to finalize my order by check or money order in person or via registered mail to Prairie Springs Ranch, PO Box 311, Bow, WA 98232
