Dear Friend of Harford Road,

On October 24, 2010, Hamilton-Lauraville Main Street sponsored our first Indie 900' Downhill Derby, a soapbox race down Harford Road. Ten of our local businesses from the Hamilton- Lauraville commercial corridor purchased and assembled their derby cars, painted and added logos, then entered a driver into the race. Since that first race, we have added more cars and partnered with Rec and Parks to bring eight additional cars for kids to race down Harford Road. A crowd of more than 1,000 gathered to watch 20 cars race down the hill and enjoy the activities. It was a great success.

Entering a derby car is a great way for your business to be seen. Don't want to build and enter a car? You can also sponsor the race and, in return, get your business name and logo on a banner that will hang through the duration of the race and be seen by all attendees. Your business will be included in all advertising and marketing materials after we have received your sponsorship. Visits from local personalities and some of our elected officials are expected to be on hand throughout the day.
