From the Desk of Sherri Moeller, Independent Beauty Consultant

Welcome to Mary Kay! I’m so excited to have you as part of my team and I am here for you whenever you need. However, if you ever can’t get a hold of me right away, the In Touch website is a treasure trove of useful information for you available 24/7. I know the website can be a little daunting, so I wanted to point out the highlights so you can easily find information, and you can delve further into the website at your convenience.

Your Login will always be your Consultant #, and you’ll need to set up a password.

First Steps

When you log in you’ll notice several offers that are available to new consultants only, as well as a welcome video. Go ahead and play the video to hear some encouraging words from the company!

Getting Started

Under the video and the icon that says Place A Product Order Now, you will see 5 easy steps to jump start your business. Take advantage of any (or all) of those that you want right away. Some, like product bonuses are a limited time offering.

Basics

To Place an Order

 Select the Ordering drop down menu from top left, then Online Ordering, and finally Create a New Cosmetic Order.

 To add products select from categories in the dark and light grey areas. For example, Select the New & Limited Edition tab to see all the available items in that category.

 Next fill in the Quantity of each item you want in the box marked quantity, and then hit Update my Order which is located under the Current Order Total on top right of ordering page. If something is Out of Stock it will show in red lettering.  Complete your order by visiting all categories and adding products. Please note: If you are not currently in Active Status, the Current Order Total will reflect 100% Retail cost until your Shopping Cart has $450 worth of RETAIL product in it. At that point you will automatically receive the 50% discount and the wholesale total will reflect this.

 The bottom line of categories is Section 2, which you pay full price for regardless of active status. These items are business aids, samples, etc.

 When you are done, select the Shopping Cart/Checkout button in Black/Pink on the top right of the ordering page. You will be able to review your order at this point. If everything is correct, select the Begin Checkout Process button in Black/Pink located above the pictures of suggested items.

 The next page shows you the rewards you have achieved from this order, and the totals you need to add (if you want) to receive additional rewards. If you wish to add more, simply select Add More Products on the right side of the page. If not, select Continue Checkout.

 This is the final page. It will show all of your totals broken out; you MUST click on the box accepting the ordering guidelines before you will be able to add a payment method.

 If you have funds in your ProPay account you can use them to pay for part or all of this order without any additional fees. If you do not, you can enter your credit/debit card information and select purchase to finalize your order.

 If you wish, you can save your payment information so that you can use it again in the future. CONGRATULATIONS, you just placed your first order!

To Check Order Status

Select the Ordering drop down menu on top left of page, then Order Status. Here you can see all information on shipments/orders from your starter kit, to regular orders, Customer Delivery Service Orders, Product Replacement Orders, and New Agreements. If something has shipped you can click on the Shipped Status to open the order, and then Click on the LINK TO UPS located in the middle of the page to track the order. Note: You can also reprint an invoice if you wish by clicking on the printer icon on the top left of the order.

Entering New Customers and Customer Orders From the Desk of Sherri Moeller, Independent Beauty Consultant

Entering new customers and customer orders in to In Touch is highly recommended because it will store all the information on your customers, allow you to send Look Books through the Preferred Customer Program with ease, Send orders with the Customer Delivery Service, and allow a complete record of items the customer bought, her skin care needs and important notes. To enter a new customer, please follow these steps:

 Select the Business Tools Drop Down, then myCustomers, then myCustomers again.

 On the first page, select the +New Customer button on the top right in light grey.

 On this page enter all the information you have on the customer in the appropriate boxes, and then Save Customer at the bottom of the page when you are done.

 Proceed to do this each time you have a new customer, or for potential new customers that you have met, who do not currently have a beauty consultant actively serving.

After your customer information is saved you are able to enter orders for these customers. To enter your customer order after you have finished entering their information just select New Order on the top right in light grey and complete the following steps:

 Select the customer from your list of customers by name or by search. Click on the name of the customer once you find them

 Select which way you will be fulfilling the order. By Customer Delivery Service (only available to active status consultants with a propay account) or from your own inventory.

 Select the Add Products button to add all the products your customer has ordered. You can add products by searching the product catalog, selecting from what they have previously purchased, recommended items, or from their wish list. Most of the time you will be using the product catalog or previously purchased.

 To add the item, find it through the search or previous purchases and click on the green add button on the left. Note: If you are sending items via the Customer Delivery Service, don’t forget to add 1 Look Book or 2 product samplers in their order for FREE.

 When your order is complete you can enter a credit card to charge (if you have a Propay account) or add the cash/check payment you receive. If you haven’t received payment yet, click on Continue to CDS (if it is a Customer Delivery Service Order) or Save and Review Order.

 On the next page you can send a confirmation email to your customer, Create an invoice, or just continue on to your next task.

Entering Weekly Accomplishments

Entering your weekly accomplishments is a great way to let your director know your activity level so that she can help encourage your progress and see the areas she can suggest improvement in for continued success. It also helps her to know what rewards you may have earned from her and any contests she is running. To enter your accomplishments follow these steps:

 Select the Business Tools drop down menu, then Weekly Accomplishments, Enter Weekly Accomplishments.

 On this page you will see any orders you have already entered in myCustomers conveniently pulled over. All you need to do is fill in any missing information such as amount of skin care sets sold, the type of sale you had – whether it was at a party, skin care class, from your Preferred Customer Program, your website, etc., and tax. When all information is filled out simply hit the Add button and the accomplishment will be recorded in the Accomplishment Details section.

 When you are done entering all information on this page (you can do it once a month, or each day as you have time) hit the pink next button on the bottom right.

 The next page shows a recap of your weekly activity, and you can enter any orders you made to the company at the bottom. When finished hit the pink Next button at the bottom right of the page.

 This page shows your director the goals you have for the next week, and also communicates any needs you may have. When finished hit the pink Next button at the bottom right of the page.

 Page 4 shows your activity with sharing the Mary Kay opportunity. Fill out the information for everyone you interview and recruit.

 Page 5 will only display your “hourly wage” information if you entered the # of hours you worked on page 1 when entering the individual customer information. When finished hit the pink Next button at the bottom right of the page.

 ONLY submit page 6 at the end of the week, otherwise your director will receive multiple copies. If it is the end of the week (or the start of the next) go ahead and hit the pink Submit my Accomplishments button.

EDUCATION

Feel like you may not know enough to be as successful as you want to be? Don’t worry! We all started somewhere and knowledge is only gained through practice and education. One of the most important tools on In Touch is located under the Product drop down menu.

Product Central From the Desk of Sherri Moeller, Independent Beauty Consultant

If you want to know anything and everything about Mary kay products you can find it under Product Central. To get here click on the Product drop down menu, and then Product Central. You will see a list of items on the left hand side of the screen. Select any of these links to learn more.

Color Confident

To learn everything you need to know about helping your customers with foundation selection, which brushes to use, eyes, lips, makeover basics and different looks you should definitely spend some time in this section. Each section teaches you about the products and applications and gives you a test for knowledge once you’ve read through it all. When you pass all tests you can earn the designation of an Advance Color Consultant too!

New Beauty Consultant

You can watch videos specifically designed to help new Independent Beauty Consultants jump start their businesses under this tab. To reach these videos select the Education drop down menu, and then New Independent Beauty Consultant.

Consultant Education

Consultant education should be ongoing to ensure the success of your business and investment. You can find consultant education under the Education drop down menu and then Consultant Education. In this area you will see several links to help support and encourage whatever path you choose to take with Mary Kay.

There is so much more that In Touch Offers but these are some good basics for you to get started with.
