District Assurance

 The LEA assures schools with a graduation rate less than 80% will develop and implement a Dropout Prevention Action Plan with the assistance of district level personnel.

 The LEA assures: o the plan is designed to increase the number of students graduating, as well as being promoted from one grade to the next; o school-level personnel will implement the plan with fidelity, and seek assistance from the district and Regional Graduation Coordinators as needed; o each goal is aligned with the school’s needs assessment and will be evaluated by a district designee(s); o evaluations will be conducted quarterly and modifications will be made to reach goals;

o all programs/activities are based on proven effective research aimed to prevent students from dropping out;

o posting the four-year cohort graduation rate for each high school in the system and for the system as a whole on its Internet website; and

o sending a written notice to the parent or legal guardian of each high school student that contains the four-year cohort dropout rate of the school in which the student is enrolled and the retention rate by grade level for students enrolled in the school.

 The LEA acknowledges the Louisiana Department of Education, Office of College and Career Readiness may conduct site visits to monitor progress of goals.

 The LEA certifies that the information contained in this action plan is accurate.
