(The Four Treasures of the Study& Chinese Culture) (July 2015)
Unit Statement: The student will learn what the four treasures of the study is. He/she will know origin about the four treasures of the study, can describe names and how to use of each treasure. Learn to appreciate Chinese calligraphic art.
Essential Outcomes: (must be assessed for mastery)
1. The Student Will read and write key words related to the four treasures of the study. (Interpretive reading and presentational writing)
2. TSW read words on the traditional books, antithetical couplet, and horizontal inscribed board. (Interpretive reading)
3. TSW Practice write Chinese character on the paper with writing brush. (Presentational writing)
4. TSW describe the places where they can see the Chinese calligraphic art. (Presentational speaking)
5. TSW use writing brush, ink stick, inks tone and paper practice write character with the idiom. (Presentational writing)
6. TSW self-select and read level- appropriate literature independently for at least 60minuts per week.(Interpretive reading)
Introduced /Practiced Outcomes:
1. The Student Will name with brush, ink stick, inks tone and paper. (Presentational speaking)
2. TSW display their own Chinese calligraphic art. (Presentational writing and speaking)
3. TSW draw a picture and write about the four treasures of the study on the post. (Presentational writing)
