Lionsgate Acquires the Exclusive Home Entertainment Distribution Rights

LIONSGATE ACQUIRES THE EXCLUSIVE HOME ENTERTAINMENT DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS FOR DELIGHTFUL NEW ANIMATED PRESCHOOL SERIES, JULIUS JR.

First Release Set For Distribution December 2 DVD Package Features Full-Size Julius Jr. Figurine

SANTA MONICA, CA (September 29, 2014) – Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), the premier next generation global content leader, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Saban Brands, a strategic brand management company that acquires and builds global consumer brands, to acquire the home entertainment distribution rights to new top-rated animated preschool series Julius Jr. Lionsgate will serve as the exclusive distributor of Julius Jr. product for all packaged media, EST and transactional video on demand rights in the United States and Canada. The announcement was made by Lionsgate Executive Vice President of Marketing and Family Entertainment Anne Parducci and Saban Brands Senior Vice President of Global Distribution Frederic Soulie.

The deal builds on a successful, long-standing relationship that has seen Lionsgate distribute Saban's hit television series, Power Rangers, in the home entertainment market. The two companies also recently announced a partnership to produce an original live action theatrical feature film based on the iconic Power Rangers property, set to release July 2016.

Julius Jr., the new animated series inspired by the world-renowned Paul Frank brand, features the quirky and lovable characters: Julius Jr., Worry Bear, Clancy, Sheree, Ping and Chachi. The second season of Julius Jr. is slated to premiere this November on Nick Jr. Lionsgate’s initial home entertainment feature release – Julius, Jr.: Snow Monkey Adventures – will launch in December.

Julius Jr.: Snow Monkey Adventures will be available for the first time on DVD (plus Digital) and Digital HD December 2nd and includes 6 episodes of the charming preschool series – filled with music, creativity and out of the box thinking for children.
