“Santa Paws is Coming to Town” Flyball Tournament Hosted by 2 Fast Fur U December 5 & 6, 2015
Thank you to all the teams entered in our fourth annual Santa Paws tournament! We are very excited to host each of you and hope you enjoy great racing and festivities!

From I-90 NYS Thruway take Exit 44 – Canandaigua. You’ll travel south on Rt. 332 to Rt. 96 (2nd light) Turn left (east) onto Rt. 96 – go a few hundred yards and at the 1st light turn right (south) on Beaver Creek Road. Boom Towne Canine Campus will be on your right. The tournament will be in the Training Arena on the right side of the building. Please do not bring your dogs through double glass doors, which is the lobby to the boarding kennel. Instead, use the door to the right of the overhead door. It is labeled “Training.” Please do not use the outdoor agility ring for exercising your dogs. You may not use the outside day care yard for walking your dogs. This area is reserved for group play. You may use the dog park only if you pay in advance and you must bring proof of vaccines if you intend to use the dog park.
Crating: There will be plenty of indoor crating available.
Friday Night Setup: You are welcome to unload and setup after 3 p.m. on Friday. The building closes at 9 p.m. each night.
We will be have Single Dog Racing this year. $5 for 5 heats. This will be done on a first come/first served basis.
Judges: Our Head Judge is Lorraine Messier. Our relief judge is Peter Guidolin.
Schedule:
Friday: 3 p.m. - 9 p.m. Setup 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Single Dog Racing
Saturday: 6:30 a.m. Building Opens 7:30 a.m. Measuring 7:50 a.m. Captain’s Meeting 8:00 a.m. Racing Starts
Sunday: 6:30 a.m. Building Opens 7:30 a.m. Racing Starts Format and Placement:
All divisions will run a 3/5 format (one point scored per race won).
Tie Breakers:
Tournament Placement Tiebreaker 1. Head to Head Results 2. Fastest Time Overall
Individual Race Tiebreaker will be fastest time in that race and if that is a tie, it will be fastest time overall.
Awards: All participants will be awarded a prize at the conclusion of racing. Ribbons will be awarded for new titles! Junior Handlers will also be recognized.
Raffle: We are having another HUGE raffle. Raffle tickets will be drawn on Sunday only. For the Canadians, we will take Canadian money at par if you forget your American cash.
For Our Canadian Visitors: Don’t forget your dog’s rabies certificates and your Passports or enhanced Driver’s License to cross the border.

There are a variety of restaurants in the City of Canandaigua (Exit 44—5 miles from Finger Lakes Pet Resort). Here are some recommendations: NYS Wine and Culinary Center (The Bistro), Simply Crepes, Schooners, Rio Tomatlin (Mexican), Eddie O’Brien’s, Eric’s Office, Wegmans Market Cafe, Canandaigua Inn on the Lake, Nolan’s on the Lake, Casa de Pasta, Rheinblick German Restaurant.
There are a variety of restaurants on Route 96 near Eastview Mall (Exit 45): Longhorn Steakhouse, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Biaggi’s, Chili’s, P. F. Changs, The Distillery, Olive Garden, Panera, T.G.I.Friday’s, Bonefish Grill, Champps, and the food court in Eastview Mall.
Special Events:
Crating Area Decorating Contest – Enjoy the festivities and decorate your area. We will be awarding three team prizes to the best decorated crating area!
Ugly Sweater/Sweatshirt/T-shirt Contest (Saturday) – Categories: Male, Female, Kids, and DOGGIES!
Pet Parade immediately following racing on Saturday for those interested. Mike Kenney, our photographer, will be ready with his camera for pet portraits!
Cleanup: Please be responsible and clean up after your dogs both at the hotels and at Finger Lakes Pet Resort. Indoors at FLPR: liquid accidents - look for the stacks of white towels, spray and orange buckets for the dirty towels. Outdoors you’ll find poop bag dispensers and trash cans. Please do not put poop in any of the indoor trash cans.
