A RESOLUTION Adjourning the House of Representatives in Honor of the Artists Participating

A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor of the artists participating in the Kentucky Arts Council's Kentucky Visions at the Capitol Exhibition. WHEREAS, the Kentucky Visions at the Capitol exhibition began in the Capitol Annex through a grant from the Kentucky Arts Council. The Exhibition was intended to promote art appreciation on the Capitol grounds, and in four short years it has grown to include 95 pieces of artwork crafted by 40 talented Kentucky artists. The exhibition may be viewed on the second, third, and fourth floors of the Capitol Annex, and the First Lady has a small exhibit proudly displayed in her office; and WHEREAS, the Kentucky Visions at the Capitol Exhibition is open to artists who are members of the Kentucky Arts Council's Kentucky Crafted program, who have been recipients of the Al Smith Individual Artists Fellowship, or who have earned Governor's Awards in the Arts. These artists have not only been justly honored in the Commonwealth; many have achieved national and global recognition. The Kentucky Visions at the Capitol Exhibition displays art that represents life from an array of different angles and contexts, and the esteemed artists who participate in the exhibition truly represent the unique, creative spirit of Kentucky; and WHEREAS, the 40 artists participating in the Kentucky Visions at the Capitol Exhibition are Dobree Adams, Matthew Albritton, Trent Altman, Philis Alvic, Don Ament, David Bartlett, Gary Bertram, Patricia Brock, Marianne Brown, Ken Buck, Jim

Cantrell, Paula Clark, Diana Colgate, Bruce Frank, Sarah Frederick, Linda Fugate- Blumer, Timothy Gold, Debbie Graviss, Jo Ann Grimes, Elsie Harris, Christopher Hill, Rebecca Cathleen Hill, Christine Kuhn, Catherine Logsdon, John McGrath, Gary Mesa- Gaido, Gretchen Papka, Raymond Papka, Esther Randall, Judy Rosati, Reba Rye, Arturo Sandoval, Randy Simmons, Karen Spears Springate, Sheldon Tapley, David Toczko, Ralph Tyree, Jacob van der Oort, Mark Whitley, and Caroline Zama. The efforts and accomplishments of these artists should be recognized and applauded, as their dedication and craftsmanship have made the Capitol a better, more beautiful place for all who visit

and work here; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives, both individually and collectively, thank the artists participating in the Kentucky Arts Council's Kentucky Visions at the Capitol Exhibition for their efforts to make the Capitol more beautiful.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor of the artists participating in the Kentucky Arts Council's Kentucky Visions at the Capitol Exhibition.
