SOUTHERN REGION HOME INTERNATIONALS

Competition Details

The competition is being held at The Hand Equestrian Centre, Clevedon, Somerset on 11/12th October 1008. It consists of an International Team Championship (England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Channel Isles and Isle of Man) and Indvidual Championships at levels from Prelim to PSG.

There are warm up classes on Saturday 11th and combined Team/Individual classes on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th . There will also be a formal trot up for all competitors at 15:00 hrs on Friday 10th October. There will be allocated times for arena walks.

For the International Team Competition, there will be four riders per team, with one riding at Prelim or Novice level, one at Elementary or Medium level, one at Advanced Medium or PSG and one at any level.

The Team Championships will be decided on the 3 highest scores from each day combined, based on points awarded to the top ten placed horses. The Individual Championships will be decided on the combined two days results.

Team and Individual competitors will be entitled to wear the England flag on their coats and numnahs for the duration of the competition.

Normal BD championship rules apply. Grading points will not be awarded.

Qualification

Horse and rider combinations must have competed in the BD Senior Inter Regional Squad competition or have two scores from affiliated competitions at or above the qualifying percentages below at the appropriate level by 1st September 2008,

The qualifying percentages are:  PRELIM 65%  NOVICE 65%  ELEMENTARY 64%  MEDIUM 63%  ADV MEDIUM 62%  PRIX ST GEORGES 61% Entry Restrictions

 Riders must be senior members (i.e. aged 18 years or over) of British Dressage or Dressage Ireland as at 1st August 2008.  Riders must not have competed in an U25 BYRDS Home International in 2008 or at the BYRDS Inter Regional Championships in 2007.  Riders who have competed internationally in a CDI in the UK or abroad at any level are not eligible.  Riders who have competed at Grand Prix/Intermediaire II in the current or preceding calendar year are not eligible.  Horses must be 5 years or over.  Riders & Horses who have competed at the BD Winter Championships and/or BD National Championships in the current or preceding year are not eligible to compete at the same level or any level below at this competition. The exception is that riders competing in the Petplan sections at the Winter Championships are eligible.  Riders must be eligible to compete in accordance with BD rules in the correct rider group/level. Rider groups and eligibility will be as at the 31st May 2008 (after the Senior Inter Regional Competition.).

No refunds will be made after the withdrawal date of 6 October.
