4 Notes
The meeting started at 9:10 pm and ended at 11: 00 pm ET All attendees were aware of the IEEE patent policy The agenda was approved.
8.9 Control Mechanisms (V2.1) Zander briefed that the agreement in Orlando meeting was to re-write the sub-clauses 8.10.1 and 8.10.1.1 of V2.0 (i.e 8.9.1 and 8.9.1.1 of version 2.1) phrase. This was assigned to Jason and he had uploaded the suggested change in DCN 58.
During the call, the text change was approved in principle with further refinement. Specifically, - Session 8.9 structure: o 8.9 Control Mechanisms o 8.9.1 Downstream synchronization o 8.9.2 Upstream synchronization o 8.9.3 Opportunistic upstream burst o 8.9.4 Power Control - In 8.9.1 o “The DS synchronization process should be performed using the superframe preamble” -> “Superframe and frame preambles may be used to perform the DS synchronization” o “minimum time” -> “sufficient time” - In 8.9.2 o “… shall maintain …” -> “… shall ensure …” - Subclause title “8.9.2.1.2 initial ranging” -> “8.9.3.1.2 initial ranging transmission”

In addition, Sung Hyun pointed out that the two paragraphs right after Table 248 in page 373 (version 2.1) have yet to be updated according to DCN36 rev3 as in the resolution to comments #378/#933 . Gerald would make the change in the new draft V3.0
8.6 Subcarrier Allocation Zander summarized that the group agreed after long discussions in Orlando meeting to rewrite 8.6 sections, including 8.6.1 through 8.6.5. The sessions 8.6.2 through 8.6.5 will be based largely from DCN 220rev1 that was contributed by Isabelle/John of France Telecom and reviewed/amended by Zander/Gerald. The work was assigned to Jason in Orlando meeting and the text change for the whole subclause 8.6 was captured in DCN220rev2.
Jason went through the whole document and explained the changes suggested. The document was agreed in principle with further amendment below: - Table 1 in 8.6.3 and Table 4 in 8.6.4 in the document will be updated according to the parameter set “32, 2, 3” for block size 1440. - Rephrase 2nd paragraph in 8.6.5 above Table 5 for clarification. (parameter q has been set to 2 for all block sizes)
Jason will update by early next week so that Gerald could update the version 3.0 for Letter Ballot in time.
