VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTION
Role title: Climbing Volunteer Youth Worker
Locations: Climbing wall
Responsible to: Sports coordinator
Hours available: Minimum 3 hours – maximum 8 hours weekly
The role:
If you’re new to climbing, get involved in our open sessions with challenges and games on our climbing wall. Want to get better at climbing? We run NICA’s (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme) sessions, giving those who want to learn more about it, the chance to develop their climbing skills, a great entry into the sport of climbing and a brilliant addition to any CV! The wall is open to all ages, genders and skill levels and manned by qualified staff. You will have the opportunity to support young people as they face new challenges We need volunteers who: Are passionate about sport and working with children and young people. Can establish positive relationships with children and young people and be a positive role model. Can work with children and young people with diverse needs in small and large groups. Are energetic, inspiring and creative. Can adhere to policies and procedures at all times with particular emphasis on equality and diversity, health and safety and safeguarding.

Activities involved in: To help set up and tidy away activities. To support staff members or other volunteers in activities. Encourage children and young people to participate.
