Call to Order/Roll Call 7 8 The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. 9 10 Present: Bruce Suppes, Kenneth Wyman, Stanley Russell, Darren Shute, Phil Dion. 11 12 Also Present: Les Bryant – Harbormaster, Lesley Cosmano – Select Board Member, 13 Mac Smith – Recording Secretary. 14 15 2. Minutes 16 17 Motion was made, seconded and passed 3-0-1, with Mr. Russell abstaining due to 18 absence, to approve the minutes of the August meeting as corrected. 19 20 3. Harbormaster Report 21 22 Stockton Springs Harbormaster Les Bryant made the following report: 23 24 The late fee and mooring fee letters have been sent, at an expense of $18.75. 25 26 Mr. Bryant wants to talk to the town manger about security cameras. 27 28 There is a need to lock the Port-A-Potties because toilet paper is being stolen. 29 30 Mr. Bryant asked if there was something that can be done about people putting household 31 trash in the trash cans. He reported four bags of used kitty litter. 32 33 Mr. Bryant said he had replaced a part of the service hose for the pump-out barge and 34 inquired as to whether a new hose should be purchased. 35 36 4. LED Lights 45 46 The status of the LED lights for the harbor was discussed, and the lights are waiting to be 47 put up. 48 49 B. Security System 50 51 Mr. Suppes reported there are three security cameras at the harbor that are not working. 52 It was decided that the harbormaster would talk to the town manager about the problem. 53 54 C. Yacht Club 55 56 Mr. Liversidge told the committee that the yacht club and adjacent property are under 57 contract. He said he would like to hear what the town would like to see at the harbor as 58 far as business. There was discussion of the Bangor Investment Corporation agreement. 59 Mr. Liversidge said he was unfamiliar with the BIC agreement. Mr. Liversidge was 60 advised by the committee to look into the BIC agreement, including its restrictive 61 covenants. 62 63 D. Harbor Boat Engine 64 65 Mr. Suppes thanked Mr. Shute for use of his skiff so that the harbormaster could get out 66 to the mooring field. Mr. Russell advised the committee that the harbormaster boat’s 67 engine should be flushed. He said if the engine is fixed, the boat has market value. Mr. 68 Russell advised the committee that with a repaired engine, which would cost roughly 69 $850, the motor could be sold for roughly $1,000 and the boat for roughly $500. There 70 was extensive discussion of the subject. The consensus of the committee was to hold 71 tight for now. Mr. Bryant was going to look into the cost of shrink-wrapping the boat 72 versus covering it with a tarp for the winter. 73 74 E. Road Race 82 83 Mr. Dion explained the road race that would involve the harbor. Mr. Suppes said access 84 for boaters must be maintained. 85 86 B. Other New Business 87 88 Melissa Terry, who is operating a tour boat out of the harbor, introduced herself and 89 thanked Vern Thompson for speaking to the committee on her behalf. Mr. Thompson 90 thanked the committee for their help with Ms. Terry’s business. 91 92 Mr. Suppes told the committee that its bylaws need updating. 93 94 6. Adjournment 95 96 Motion was made, seconded and passed unanimously to adjourn the meeting.
