Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association Monthly Board Meeting October 15th 2014 Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena
Attendance: Greg Noon, Russ Bell, John Dykstra, Travis Sanders, Lisa Levenstein, Christine Munson, Joe Hirliman, Mary Fales, Ted Farnham, Hyla Brinkley, Stephanie DePonceau, Patricia D’Angelo, Carl Olson, Bud Tomassi, Danielle Bergman
Greg Noon makes a motion for Christine Munson to move all deposits and our checking account from Jamestown Savings Bank to Community Bank. Ted Farnham seconds it… and all are in favor and no one is opposed.
Presidents Report -Joe went to the WNY meeting last night and the big topic was the midget coaches not having their credentials done. (We are good at the midget level though) -All coaches in the association need to get their age modules done ASAP -Score sheets need to be filled out completely or it will result in fines. (We have already received one) -The managers name and phone number need to be listed on the score sheet in case anyone needs to contact them. -All game misconducts must be report through the website -Per USA rules someone who is screened needs to monitor the locker rooms and the rink should not be giving keys to the kids, only coaches -Joe Hirliman did the certification for NYS -Safe Sport has been turned -All our current birth certificates have been verified -Next year WNY will be cutting down on the number of independent teams…as all teams will be required to participate in the league with the exception of one team per association and you must be able to prove why you should be independent.
-Adm went to a Jamboree last Saturday in Cheektowaga and the kids had a blast -There were 6 teams with 5 20 min games -Our team won 4 out of 5 games -They had a bounce house, a shooting gallery -Matt Herr was there and did a 15 min parent meeting -Next one is in Cazenovia Park in November -Our Jamboree will be held December 20th -Pictures- we may be going with someone new this year -We need a key to our office ASAP VP Travel -Rink is not running the curfew clock, if they do; it needs to be done before the game starts- -Games do not have to have a curfew clock, that is only set if the rink wants to
VP House -Two beginner sign ups have been held and so far we have 32 kids signed up, most are hearing about it on the radio -Going to have the midget 18u help with beginner equipment fittings, Randy Stuart would like a week notice for the fitting days, so we need to schedule those ASAP -Oct 23 6 –8:30 -Oct 30 6-8:30 will be the fitting days -Nov 8th is try hockey for free day; we will need to advertise to bring a bike helmet and gloves -Rink is going AAU with the house program and has decided to not run it through our association; they did not like the rules and stipulations that we set
Coaching Coordinator -Everyone is screened -6 managers and 5 coaches with no safe sport -9 coaches are missing modules -This all must be done ASAP -Safe sport needs to be done by the end of the week and modules by the end of the month
Tournament Director -No report
Registrar -Roster changes need to be submitted by Thursday of that week for a Saturday game (48 hours before game time)

New Business -High school tryouts, we’re looking at Monday November 3rd at 8:30p.m. -Russ Bell makes a motion for all senior girls on the girl’s team to be recognized on senior night, Joe Hirliman seconds it an all are in favor and no one is opposed.
Carl Olson makes a motion to adjourn and Greg Noon seconds it.
