Title: Wellbeing Data Volunteer

Location: BVSC 138 Digbeth Birmingham B56DR

Responsible to: Active Citizenship Development Worker

Responsible for: Providing administration support for the Routes 2 Wellbeing Service

This is an unpaid role although reasonable travel expenses will be paid

Background and Purpose of Role

Routes 2wellbeing is an innovative way of utilising web based information to improve the wellbeing of the citizens of Birmingham. This role will ensure that the information on the portal is as accurate, comprehensive and informative as possible

The Wellbeing Data Volunteer will volunteer alongside the Active Citizenship Development Worker to respond to email enquiries, update organisations and respond to applications to promote services via the Routes2Wellbeing Portal..The volunteer will also be responsible for, responding to organisation requests to attend promotional events, ensuring existing data is accurate and up to date and other Administration duties.

Training and support will be provided.

Tasks and Responsibilities

 To liaise with the Active Citizenship Development Worker to identify potential services to be added to the Routes2Wellbeing Portal.  To ensure that information on the portal is constantly revised to ensure accuracy.  To collate client needs information to enable appropriate identification of services of benefit to the client and further development of the service.  To attend an initial induction session  To attend Bi-monthly volunteer Team meetings and relevant development/ Training sessions as appropriate.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

 Data inputting and data cleanse.  Providing follow up calls to organisations to check accuracy of data.  To liaise with Marketing & Communications and the Resource Centre to identify new services/ organisations to be added to the portal.  Supporting clients to access services as identified on the Routes 2 Wellbeing portal.  Attending external events as a means of promoting the service.  Updating tracking databases and information systems.  Identifying organisations that may offer wellbeing services.  Contacting organisations in order to secure information for the portal  Other duties and activities associated with routes to wellbeing.

Skills and Abilities

Potential volunteers should already possess or show a willingness to achieve the following skills and abilities:

 Good Communication Skills  Strong attention to detail  To work effectively within a team and on a 1:1 basis using own initiative  Excellent written English  Excellent Telephone manner.  Reliable, with good organisational skills.  Capacity to structure own work once given clear objectives.  IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)  Commitment to BVSC’s equal opportunities and anti-discrimination ethos Time Commitment

The amount of time that each volunteer commits is negotiable, however the ability to offer at least 1 day per week is advantageous.

Expenses

BVSC will reimburse reasonable travel expenses for travel between a volunteer’s residence and the volunteering location on days that they are volunteering.
