Secondment Position - Gas

INTERTANKO is looking to find a suitable candidate to take up an 18-month secondment within the Secretariat in London.

Prerequisites: The candidate must be employed by a current INTERTANKO Member Company throughout the secondment. He/she must be able and willing to work in INTERTANKO’s London offices for the duration of the secondment.

Skill set & Experience: The candidate should have seagoing experience (deck or engine) and be directly engaged in gas-related activities with a minimum of 3yrs company experience. Applicants with LPG experience would be preferred.

Activities during Secondment: a. internal tasks and responsibilities:  Assist in the development of the Association’s Work Plan for gas tanker services to Members  In collaboration with the Senior Manager for Gas, respond to queries and provide advice and liaison to INTERTANKO Members on gas tanker and related issues  Assist with gas tanker-related projects and issues pertaining to chartering, vetting, training, port state control, ports and terminals etc.  Assist with development and drafting of gas specific publications, news articles and bulletins, gas pages of the INTERTANKO website, as well as the organisation of gas seminars and fora b. Committees and Working Groups  Assist the Secretary of INTERTANKO’s Gas Tanker Committee (GTC) with preparation, planning and follow up of the Gas Tanker Committee meetings  Assist the Secretary of INTERTANKO’s GTC with facilitating the work of ad hoc GTC working groups, as required  Assist with gas-specific issues that may arise from other INTERTANKO Committees  Provide updates to other INTERTANKO Committees on areas of responsibility, as required c. External Representation:  Occasional travel may be required  Represent INTERTANKO at IMO Committees and Sub-Committees, as required  Represent, liaise and collaborate with SIGTTO and other industry bodies, as required  Represent at other external meetings, as required

Arrangement with Member Company: This secondment should ensure that suitable candidates and their parent company benefit from the professional development a secondment will afford, while equally benefiting the wider Membership of the Association through the knowledge and skills transfer between the candidate and the Secretariat/ working committees. Cognisant of the ongoing operational needs of Member Companies, the details of this secondment can be adjusted. In order to support the Member company and contribute to the cost of temporarily replacing the secondee during his/ her absence, INTERTANKO proposes to make a contribution to salary and social costs in the order of USD 100,000 per annum. All other costs of removal, housing, subsistence, additional insurance etc. are to be borne by the parent company.
