TREK TO“BALENI PASS” (3765M)

DISTRICT KANGRA, HIMACHAL PRADESH.

Kangra district is situated on the southern escarpment of the Himalayas. The entire area of the district is traversed by the varying altitude of the Shivaliks, Dhauladhar and the Himalayas from north-west to south-east. The altitude varies from 500 metres above mean sea level (amsl) to around 5500 metres. It was the largest district of the composite Punjab in terms of area till it was transferred from Punjab to Himachal Pradesh on the 1st Nov, 1966.

ITINERARY FOR HEAT 2013 (12 Days/ 11 nights):

MAY 01: DEPARTURE FROM HYDERABAD · Leave Hyderabad For Delhi. · (MEALS: DINNER)

MAY 02: ARRIVE AT DELHI · Arrive At Delhi And Check In A Hotel For Few Hours And Leave To Pathankot. · (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

May 03: ARRIVE PATHANKOT & DRIVE TO SALLI VILLAGE (BASE CAMP) (3HRS) · Arrive at Pathankot and drive to Salli (80KMS/ 3 HRS). · Arrive Salli Base Camp (1850M) by Lunch time. · Check into camp site. · Post lunch – walk to Salli Village and River Khauli. · Dinner followed by bonfire and songs/ group entertainment. · (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

May 04: ACCLIMATIZATION DAY AROUND SALLI The view from the base camp is spectacular with snow capped peaks in the front and river Khauli flowing through the valley. The back view is even spectacular with Pong and Maharana Ranjit Singh Reservoirs visible from end to end. We go for an acclimatization walk from breakfast to lunch today. Post lunch, we prepare our rucksacks for the trek and some adventure activities. (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

May 05: TREK TO CAMP 1 AT CHANDRELA TEMPLE (2500M) 6KMS/ 4HRS · Post breakfast, departure for trek to Camp I · Arrive around lunch time; Rasna/ Lemonade on arrival to be served · Post lunch, welcome address by the camp leader and allotment of tents on sharing basis · Adventure Activity - Tyrolean Traverse · Soup time followed by dinner and campfire · Overnight in tents (Group Sharing basis) · (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

May 06: TREK TO CAMP 2 AT CHAGROTU (3000M) 5KMS/ 3 HRS · Post breakfast, departure for trek to Camp II · Arrive around lunch time; Rasna/ Lemonade on arrival to be served · Chagrotu camp offers one of the most spectacular views of Dhauladher range beyond the Baleni Pass. · Post lunch, welcome address by the camp leader and allotment of tents on sharing basis · Adventure Activity - Exploring the nearby high altitude area · Soup time followed by dinner and campfire · Overnight in tents (Group Sharing basis) · (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

May 07: CLIMB TO BALENI TOP (3765M) 2KMS · Post breakfast, Height gain day to Baleni Top. Great spectacular views of the Dhauladhar snow mountains from the pass · Return back to the camp around lunch time & evening at leisure · Soup time followed by dinner and campfire · Overnight in tents (Group Sharing basis) · (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

May 08: TREK TO CAMP 1 AT CHANDRELA TEMPLE · Post breakfast, departure for trek to Camp I · Arrive around lunch time · Post lunch, welcome address by the camp leader and allotment of tents on sharing basis · Adventure Activity - Rappelling · Soup time followed by dinner and campfire · Overnight in tents (Group Sharing basis) · (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

May 09: TREK DOWN TO THE BASE CAMP AT VILLAGE SALLI · Post breakfast, departure for trek to Base camp · Arrive around lunch time · Post lunch, welcome address by the camp leader and allotment of tents on sharing basis · Evening at leisure to visit the town · Soup time followed by dinner and campfire · Overnight in tents (Group Sharing basis) · (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

May 10: DEPART FROM BASE CAMP · Drive To Mcleodganj For Day Visit & Transfer To Pathankot For Onward Journey To Delhi.

MAY 11: ARRIVE AT DELHI · Arrive At Delhi At 06.30am And Check In A Hotel For Few Hours And Leave For Hyderbad.

MAY 12: ARRIVE AT HYDERABAD • Reach Hyderabad And take home lot of memories

PACKAGE COST : Ex-HYD 22,500/- per Person.

PACKAGE COST INCLUDES: Transportation by 3rd AC Train, shared Vehicles, Accommodation on sharing basis, Adventure activities, Tents, sleeping bags, Rucksacks, Carry mats.

CANCELLATION POLICY The package price will be deducted as per the following conditions strictly. No refund will be entertained without receiving a cancellation request effective from the date of payment. · After booking and prior to 30 days: Rs. 700 will be deducted before refund. · Notice of less than 30 days upto 15 days: 10% of package cost will be deducted before refund. · Notice of less than 15 days and prior to 48 hrs: 50% of package cost will be deducted before refund. · Notice of less than 48 hrs to commencement of Journey : No refund.

MEDICAL FACILITIES Facilities for proper medical aid are available at every campsite throughout the trek. However those on special medication or with known drug allergies should bring their own necessary medications. SAFETY Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of trek routes keeping safety in mind. Our experienced camp leaders have been constantly visiting the area to check all the details. Stringent safety standards are adhered to strictly, and only quality equipment is used. CERTIFICATE & SOUVENIR Every trekker will be given a souvenir and awarded with a certificate on successfully completing the trek. SPECIAL NOTES 1. TREKKENTURE and HOLIDAY MOODS ADVENTURES reserves the right to increase the package price, change the number of days or trek route if the situation so desires due to unforeseen reasons. 2. TREKKENTURE and HOLIDAY MOODS ADVENTURES reserves the right to reject any application. 3. The package excludes any kind of personal expenses such as STD calls, laundry, and personal sightseeing or any such expenses that may arise due to unforeseen events like roadblocks due to landslides etc. 4. All disputes subject to Delhi jurisdiction strictly.
