AUGUST, 2012 NEWSLETTER.

NEW MEMBERS. A most hearty welcome is extended to the following new members; Neil & June Hulme of Buglawton with their 1935 Rover 12. Renzo Passoni of Winsford with his Fiat 500. Gerald Stretton of Newcastle with his Mercedes 320 CLK AMG.

CLUB BARBEQUE. The Annual Club BBQ will take place again on SUNDAY 9th September,2012 at Gleads Moss Farm. The club has held this event, without fail, every year since the club’s inception in 1999. The first 2 years it was held at Eaton, and for 1 year it was at Smallwood. However since 2002 it has been held at John Baker’s location, so this will be the 11th year at this venue. We always receive a most warm welcome as we invade each year. The club can only extend its many thanks to John and his wife, Cath, for putting up with us for so long.

Members are asked to return the forms to Harold ASAP in order that numbers are known for the ordering of the meat and rolls, etc. Many forms were handed out at the meeting , the remainder will be posted,

A request for a working party was made to assist with the setting out of chairs, etc on Saturday 8th September. Whilst the main Marquees are erected for us, there is a certain amount of setting out to do; tables, chairs, etc. Nothing too heavy. Volunteers please meet at John’s place at 10h00 or shortly after.

An appeal was also made for anyone, who could help to create the side salads, garnishes and accoutrements. This is a sizeable task as approx. 200 persons are catered for, so it would probably demand someone with appropriate catering experience. If you feel you, or know of anyone who, could help in any way, please contact Harold ASAP. (The club would obviously reimburse the costs of any purchases, a simple receipt being sufficient.)

Many thanks go to the volunteers who, in conjunction with Middlewich Town Council, have organised the event in the past few weeks, and also those who marshalled on the day.
