LEGAL GUIDELINES FOR USE OF THE A.I.S.E. TOILET CLEANERS CLEANRIGHT PANEL - July 2014 -

INTRODUCTION :

A.I.S.E., the International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products developed since 1998 a series of visuals to support the “Washright” initiative1. These were designed to optimise consumers washing habits towards more environmentally-friendly use of household laundry detergents across Europe.

From July 2014, A.I.S.E. provides industry players with a similar version of this panel for toilet cleaners: the Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel. Details on the tips can be found on www.cleanright.eu, the central industry consumer portal.

The guidelines below outline the conditions under which the Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel can be used.

1 Mid 2010, A.I.S.E. agreed to fine tune the initial Washright Panel in order to make it more up-to-date and clearer for consumers and to build on the www.cleanright.eu consumer portal. PART ONE : CONDITIONS OF USE

1. The Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel may only be used in relation to household2 Toilet cleaners and may not be used in relation to any other product or category of products.

2. The Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel can either be used in full format or in pictures-only format. When used in its full format it should reproduce the panel featured in the technical guidelines in all its elements, including the copyright and the website address www.cleanright.eu. When used in pictures-only format the copyright reference “Copyright A.I.S.E.” or “© A.I.S.E ” should clearly be mentioned beside the pictures, as well as the website address www.cleanright.eu. All the individual items shall be placed in the same order as shown on the example of a full panel on page 1. When accompanied by recommendations, the order of the recommendations is also imperative. 3. Uses a. When used on packaging the Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel may be used in full format or in pictures-only format. c) When used in commercial communications other than packaging, the Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel must be in its full format. The individual items of the panel may not be used separately in any commercial communication except in a format previously approved or recommended by A.I.S.E. d) The Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel may be used in point-of-sale and direct-to-customer commercial communications for the purposes only of giving guidance on good cleaning practices but shall not be used in mass media communications i.e. television, radio, print, cinema, posters except after agreement from A.I.S.E. e) The Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel may be used on company website for the purpose of only giving guidance on good cleaning practices.

4. The Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel must not be presented as if it was the trade mark or branding of an individual manufacturer’s product.

5. The Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel shall not be used in relation to any claim made for any product. Neither shall it be used for any product which conflicts with the project.

6. The Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel shall not be used in any way which is misleading, deceptive or confusing, or which abuses it or may bring it into disrepute.

7. A.I.S.E. reserves the right on due notice to withdraw the right of any person or company to use the Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel in the event of non-compliance with these conditions.

PART TWO : TECHNICAL & DESIGN GUIDELINES

2 In the case of professional cleaners (eg sold in cash & carry), the Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel may be used, provided the tips are relevant to the ultimate use of the product.

Languages: The translation of the Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel has been developed by A.I.S.E for the following languages: EU: Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Latvian, Magyar, Polish, Portuguese, Maltese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish. Beyond EU: Norwegian, Icelandic, Serbian, Turkish. In the countries where the above languages are used, the exact A.I.S.E. translation should be respected. In other countries, A.I.S.E. does not take responsibilities for the texts and translations that might be used.

PART THREE: TRANSITION

The 2014 version of the Toilet Cleaners Cleanright Panel is being put at the disposal of industry from July 2014 onwards.
