BRAVO - BRAVO - BRAVO

Congrats to the 2015-2016 students on an amazing recital! Each and every one of you did an awesome job performing, making SUPERHEROES a huge success!! I’m looking forward to Recital 2017, MOVIES IN MOTION!!!

Expectations of Dancer Children who attend regularly and respect their peers will learn valuable life lessons along with advancing in their dancing ability. It is important to me, that the studio creates a fun atmosphere where the student feels most comfortable.

Studio Space www.dancewave.biz 93 E. Bremer Ave (319) 269-4224 [email protected] Waverly, IA 50677 Fall 2016/Spring 2017 Dance Wave Registration information Please be respectful to items that aren’t your own, as well as cleaning up your area after dance lessons. Keeping a clean and attractive studio reflects your attitude about the studio. Please keep street shoes off the dance floor.

Observation Day Parents are allowed to bring their child(ren) into the studio before their lesson but are asked to leave until class is over. This permits the lesson to be as productive as possible and limits distractions. Parents can observe class the first week in November and March. See Calendar for exact dates.

Dance Attire Wearing the proper attire and shoes for dance lessons is important. Being able to see body alignment makes it easier for the dance instructor to make corrections. For any class, hair should be securely pulled away from the face and limited jewelry worn. ABSOLUTELY NO T-SHIRTS* OR OTHER BAGGY CLOTHING! *Males are expected to wear dance pants or shorts with a t-shirt or tank and the correct dance shoes.  Ballet & Pointe: Any color leotard and tights. Optional ballet skirts, tight-fitted shorts or leggings can be worn. Girls need pink leather or canvas ballet shoes. Boys need black leather or canvas ballet shoes. Hair should be securely pulled away from the face. Pointe shoes are to be fitted by the pointe shoe specialist.  Jazz & Hip-Hop: Any color leotard or tight-fitted cami paired with dance pants, tight- fitted shorts or leggings. Black jazz shoes are required for all Jazz classes and Hip-Hop Level 1 & 2 classes. Level 3 Hip-Hop students must wear the partially-sequined black hip-hop combat boots. Hair should be securely pulled away from the face.  Tap: Any color leotard or tight-fitted cami. Optional tap skirt, tight-fitted shorts or leggings can be worn. Black tap shoes with a tread on the bottom is required. Hair should be securely pulled away from the face.

***Dance shoes and attire can be fitted and ordered during our Dancewear Special Order day (days and times TBD). Another option is to order from Discount Dance Supply at www.discountdance.com using the Teacher Code: TP63573 to access the Dance Wave dress code.

Class Cancellations If the Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District cancels school and/or evening activities, or dismisses early due to inclement weather, classes scheduled for that night will be cancelled. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO HEAT RELATED CANCELLATIONS. The first two classes missed due to weather will NOT be made-up. The third class, and any after that, will be made-up at the discretion of the instructor. This also applies to classes cancelled due to teacher illness. www.dancewave.biz 93 E. Absences & Make-Up Lessons Unfortunately, we do not offer make-up lessons for absences.

Registration Fee A registration fee of $20 per student or $30 per family will be due at registration.

Tuition Cash or Check is preferred; however, credit/debit cards will be accepted with a 3.5% credit card fee added on to the total. A $30 fee will be added for any returned checks. There are two options for tuition payment:

1. Option one is to pay the annual amount of tuition in full by September 10th and receive a 5% discount. The first 50% will be due at registration, with the remainder being due by September 10th. The 5% discount will be revoked if the remainder is not paid by this time. If a class is dropped, a prorated refund will be issued, less the original 5% discount.

2. Option two is to pay monthly. The amount of your monthly bill will be calculated at registration. Monthly payments are due the 1st of every month. There will be 9 tuition payments, with the first being due at registration. No tuition payment is due in the month of November, as this is the month costume payments are due. Monthly tuition payments will resume in December and continue thru May. A late fee of $15 or 10% of the total balance owed (whichever is greater) will be applied if payment is not received by the 10th day of the month. *If there is an outstanding balance by recital, your child may not be eligible to perform. If because of extenuating circumstances you are unable to make a regular payment, please talk to me and we will work together to come to a suitable payment arrangement.

Recital and Costume Payment Recital is tentatively scheduled for Friday May 19th, 2016 & Saturday May 20st, 2016 in RADA Auditorium at the Waverly-Shell Rock High School. Please be aware that there is a costume fee for each dance. The cost of each costume will range somewhere between $50 and $85 for each dance. I will do my best to keep costume costs to a minimum. A costume bill will be sent out in October, with payment being due by November 1st. This cost will include costume, accessories (if needed), and tights. IT DOES NOT COVER ALTERATIONS. 2016-2017 DANCE SCHEDULE

More Classes = Bigger Savings To make it more affordable for families and to encourage students to take more classes, the 3% discount will still be available this year. The 3% discount applies to families who enroll in three or more classes. This will significantly reduce monthly payments and should encourage students to take that extra class they have wanted to try. Discounts will be calculated at registration.

Here is an example of how it works…

Family 1 Family 2 Child 1 = 3 classes Child 1 = 3 classes Child 2 = 3 classes ______Total classes = 6 Total classes = 3

Discount: 6 classes x 3% = 18% Discount: 3 classes x 3% = 9% discount discount
