2006 USTA HIGH PERFORMANCE GRANTS

USTA High Performance Grants are determined in early February each year. The overall dollar amount of grants and the allocation of services will be determined by the Director of Men's or Director of Women's Tennis. The High Performance Grants are given through services and they are distributed in three ways listed below:

SERVICE GRANTS (see below for details): 1. Training at the USTA National Training Centers (minimum of 20% of overall grant will be reserved for training); 2. Approved tournament travel grant; 3. Other approved services.

The following procedures apply to all players who receive a High Performance Service Grant to attend the USTA National Training Centers in Key Biscayne, FL or Carson, CA. All expenses will be deducted from a player’s individual Service Grant total and reported monthly to the Directors of Men’s or Director of Women’s Tennis. Players are expected to maintain the highest level of sportsmanship. Inappropriate conduct by a player may result in a loss of funding. By November 1, 2006, any of your remaining grant funds that has not been allocated will be returned to the USTA High Performance Grant and Services Program

All players must submit a Service Grant Request form, which should include receipts (if necessary) of any player travel expenses. The player will be reimbursed approximately 3-4 weeks after his/her visit.

1. Training A. A player must contact the USTA National Coach responsible for his/her age division/birth year to arrange training at one of the USTA National Training Centers. B. Once the training dates have been approved by the USTA National Coach, the player may proceed with his/her flight arrangements.

Airline Tickets 1. Airline tickets must be purchased by the player. We recommend tickets be purchased 21 days in advance for the best possible fare. 2. Players must submit the original ticket receipt to be reimbursed and should receive a check within 3 weeks of submission.

Hotel 1. The office staff in Key Biscayne or Carson will make all hotel reservations and room charges will be placed on a master bill. Incidentals are the responsibility of the player. Service Allowance 1. Approved players will receive a service allowance of $50/per day to cover meals while training at one of the USTA National Training Centers (for approved dates only), which will cover the duration of the trip. 2.
