Attendance See attached sign in forms for those in attendance Approval of Minutes The meeting was called to order by Ms. Cruz at 2:16, seconded by Mrs. Jones. The Minutes of 9/22/2015 were motioned to be approved by Mrs. McLaughlin, seconded by Ms. Mally. All approved. Principals Report

Presented by Ms. McLaughlin:  FSA Individual Scores are in. They will be sent home in the Thursday folder with students after they are sorted.  FSA results for our school: Reading 66% Math 88%  It is unknown at this time how this relates to a grade for our school  Upcoming Events:  Tonight at 6:30 is the Family Reading Night at the Book fair  October 30th is our Story Book Parade. All children are encouraged to participate.  As part of this weeks Just Say No to Drugs Red Ribbon week, tomorrow is Don’t Get Tied up with drugs. Wear tie dye or crazy neckties.  November Events:  11/23 Turkey Trot  11/12 Turkey Dressing Night at 6:30  11/12 Report Cards for First Quarter will go home. If Parents have questions about their child’s report cards they are encouraged to request a conference with the teacher. Title 1  Mrs. Jones discussed that many of our teachers are dually certified. Schools have to do a self -assessment for inclusion. It is divided into three sections and section 1 was discussed and reviewed today. There were 17 indicators to review. Domains were reviewed and our school passed demonstrating best practice for inclusion.

New Business  Ms. Cruz shared that the SAC composition voted upon the end of last year will be maintained for the next three years based upon the by-laws.  Accreditation was begun last year with Ms. McLaughlin and will be continuing this year. The process is posted on the PLE website under SAC. Ms. Cruz shared the Best Blueprint and Advanced Accreditation Standards Correlation paper. She also shared a diagnostic summary of average scores for the standards. This information is also available on the PLE website under SAC.  We will be covering the different areas of accreditation in more detail at future SAC meetings.  Ms. McLaughlin presented Home Connect for Renaissance Learning. Two steps are required for signing up and once you do it in Kindergarten for your child you don’t have to do it again. You can look at page 4 of the PLE webpage for directions. Your child just needs their log in information. SAF  Mr. John Jones was unavailable today but his report was presented by Mrs. Jones.  Importance of Accreditation Standards was emphasized.  In Eligibility for special programs, grants and scholarships parents play a critical role as assessed through focus groups and surveys.  It is important that a school have a mission statement. Also that they communicate the schools purpose for student success.  It is important to keep school webpage updated. Suggestions were made to use twitter to communicate with families.  Across the District 89% of students with learning disabilities failed the 2014 FCAT.  66% of students in the District are currently on free and reduced lunch. (an all time high)

Behavior Plan and Student Attendance scheduled on the agenda for today’s meeting will be tabled until next month’s meeting due to today’s absence of Ms. Slater.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Ms. McLaughlin and seconded by Mrs. Levine. The next SAC meeting will be held November 18th at 2:15.
