FLORA HIGH SCHOOL 14 “FALCONS” GOLF TEAM AND HEAD COACH HARRY 15 HUNTLEY ON THEIR OUTSTANDING DETERMINATION 16 AND HARD WORK THROUGHOUT THE SEASON AND ON 17 CAPTURING THE 2003 CLASS AAA STATE GOLF 18 CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE ON TUESDAY, MAY 13, 2003. 19 20 Whereas, the game of golf affords young people the opportunity to 21 learn the importance of dedication and teamwork while developing 22 unique talents; and 23 24 Whereas, becoming a champion in this sport requires every 25 member of the team and coaching staff to have special leadership 26 skills and athletic abilities; and 27 28 Whereas, using those talents, Head Coach Harry Huntley, 29 Assistant Coach Mike Powell, and the members of the A.C. Flora 30 High School “Falcons” Golf Team played matches throughout 31 their season with determination and precision to become the best 32 golf team in their division; and 33 34 Whereas, the A.C. Flora “Falcons” Golf Team won four regular 35 season tournaments and contended for titles in several other 36 matches; and 37 38 Whereas, with every team member’s enthusiasm and hard work 39 and under the direction of Coach Huntley, the A.C. Flora High 40 School “Falcons” Golf Team swept past teams from across the 41 State, beating out their competition by 27 strokes, to become the

1 [4288] 1 1 2003 Class AAA State Golf Champions, at the championship 2 tournament in Myrtle Beach; and 3 4 Whereas, the members of this exceptional team are Michael 5 Chappell, Sam Crews, Grayson Lambert, Mark Lentz, 3-A 6 Individual State Champion Fielder Huntley, Matthew Nickles, 7 Marshall Ormand, Danny Priester, Michael Powell, Jonathan 8 Strauss, McLean Sims, Brandon Hewitt, and Victor Wakefield; 9 and 10 11 Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize the physical 12 and mental abilities of these young South Carolinians and hope 13 that they will use those skills in their future endeavors. Now, 14 therefore, 15 16 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 17 18 That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of 19 South Carolina, by this resolution, extend their congratulations to 20 the A.C. Flora High School “Falcons” Golf Team and Head Coach 21 Harry Huntley, on their outstanding determination and hard work 22 throughout the season and on capturing the 2003 Class AAA State 23 Golf Championship Title on Tuesday, May 13, 2003. 24 25 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 26 the members of the A.C.
