This Defend Life Rosary consists of the Sorrowful Mysteries. The leader will pray out-loud the short meditation that precedes each Our Father at the start of each decade and the designated reader will pray the Our Father and Hail Mary’s.

3 Defend Life Rosary Prayed in solidarity for those who vigil at Berwyn Heights abortuary.

1. Make the Sign of the Cross.

Prayer before the Rosary TO RESPECT LIFE

O Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth, you create today many precious human beings who will be deprived of life because of the sin of abortion. Grant us the wisdom to respect those begotten children and encourage a motherly love to protect these souls through their birth, infancy, and childhood. Grant that no one deprive your most innocent ones the privilege of holy baptism whereby they may be born again to your supernatural life by grace.

One soul in Your eyes, Almighty God, is of more value than the whole created universe. Accept the precious blood of Your Son Jesus Christ, present on our altars and in our tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the sins of abortive murder.

Almighty God, remove the scourge of abortion from the face of the earth. Amen

THE ROSARY 2. Say the "Apostles Creed".

The Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His Only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit; born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right had of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the Holy Catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and life everlasting. Amen.

3. Say the "Our Father". 4 The Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

4. Say three "Hail Mary’s".

The Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

5. Say the "Glory Be".

The Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

6. Announce the First Sorrowful Mystery (The Agony in the Garden - Matthew 26:38-39)

Let us pray for mothers and fathers who are in agony because they are tempted to abort a child. May they be given the good news that there are alternatives, and may they make use of the help that is available.

I humbly pray:

7. Say the "Our Father".

8. Say ten "Hail Mary’s", while meditating on the Mystery.

9. Say the "Glory Be", then say the "Fatima Prayer".

The Fatima Prayer 5 O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

10. Announce the Second Sorrowful Mystery (The Scourging at the Pillar - John 19:1)

As Christ’s flesh was torn by the instruments of those who scourged Him, so the bodies of babies in the womb are torn by the instruments of the abortionists. Let us pray that abortionists may repent of these acts of child-killing.

I humbly pray:

11. Say the "Our Father".

12. Say ten "Hail Mary’s", while meditating on the Mystery.

13. Say the "Glory Be", then say the "Fatima Prayer".

The Fatima Prayer O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

14. Announce the Third Sorrowful Mystery (The Crowning with Thorns - Mark 15:16-17)

Jesus suffered the pain of thorns in His head, and did so silently. We pray for the mothers and fathers of aborted children. So many of them suffer deep grief and regret over a choice they can never reverse. So many suffer in silence, because others tell them it’s no big deal.

I humbly pray:

15. Say the "Our Father".

16. Say ten "Hail Mary’s", while meditating on the Mystery.

17. Say the "Glory Be", then say the "Fatima Prayer".

6 The Fatima Prayer

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

18. Announce the Fourth Sorrowful Mystery (The Carrying of the Cross - John 19:17)

Jesus was not condemned by the power of wicked people. He was condemned because of the silence of good people. Silence always helps the oppressor, never the victim. Let us pray that we may never be silent about abortion, but rather will clearly speak up to save babies from death.

I humbly pray:

19. Say the "Our Father".

20. Say ten "Hail Mary’s", while meditating on the Mystery.

21. Say the "Glory Be", then say the "Fatima Prayer".

The Fatima Prayer

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

22. Announce the Fifth Sorrowful Mystery (The Crucifixion - John 19:28-30)

As we ponder the death of Christ, let us remember the many women who have died from so-called “safe, legal” abortions. Let us ask forgiveness and mercy for them. May their memory save other women from making this tragic mistake.

I humbly pray:

23. Say the "Our Father".

24. Say ten "Hail Mary’s", while meditating on the Mystery.

25. Say the "Glory Be", then say the "Fatima Prayer".

7 The Fatima Prayer

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

26. Say the "Hail Holy Queen".

The Hail Holy Queen

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy! Our life, our sweetness and our hope! To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

LEADER: Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, Pray for us:

ALL: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

27. Say the “O God” prayer.

O God

O God, whose only-begotten Son, by his life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech Thee, that, meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain, and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

28. Pray the concluding prayer, ‘Prayer to End Abortions’.

Prayer to End Abortions

8 Mother Mary, as you carried your Divine Child in your womb you rejoiced and glorified the Lord. Touch with pity the hearts of those women pregnant in our world today who think of murder, not motherhood. Help them to see that the child they carry is made in God's image -- as well as theirs -- made for eternal life. Dispel their fear and selfishness and give them true womanly hearts to love their babies and give them birth and all the needed care that a mother alone can give. Mary Mother of Christ, show us all, one day the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. Amen.

Prayer for Closing the Abortion Facility Metropolitan Family Planning Institute, Inc.

9 Father, all life is in Your care.

You have entrusted us to one another, that we may show our brothers and sisters the same love You have for us.

We pray then, for the least among us, the children in the womb. Protect them from the violence of abortion.

We pray especially for the preborn babies scheduled to be killed in the Metropolitan Family Planning abortion mill. Save them from death!

Give new hope to their parents that they may turn away from the desperate act of abortion.

Grant conversion to Dr. Abolghassem Gohari, his wife, and their staff.

Show us how we are to respond to the bloodshed in our midst, And lead us to the day when this place of death will be transformed into a haven of life.

Guard us with Your joy and Your peace, for in You, life is victorious.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
