What is the Hasbro Global Day of Joy? The Hasbro Global Day of Joy – scheduled for December 6 – is a day when Hasbro, Inc., empowers all 5,000 of its employees in 35 countries around the world to combine their philanthropic spirit and engage in community service projects that bring joy to children in need this holiday season.
How many children will Hasbro impact through Global Day of Joy? According to impact data provided by the charitable organizations Hasbro is working with, the company estimates that its team of employee volunteers will help spread joy to more than 75,000 underserved children around the world.
How many service projects will be held through Hasbro’s Global Day of Joy? More than 100 community service projects have been organized through the Global Day of Joy – approximately 60 in the United States where Hasbro is headquartered and 40 more spread out in the communities where Hasbro has office in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The 60 national projects will take place in areas where it has operating facilities, including Rhode Island (global headquarters), East Longmeadow, Mass., Miami, Fla., Renton, Wash., and Los Angeles, Calif.
What types of service projects will be held? Toy delivery donations, “Game Day” events where Hasbro employees bring toys and games to a nonprofit site to engage with children, “Playful Painters” mural designs and other creative events where local charities have their outdated play areas re-imagined and re-designed into safer, more vibrant play areas; holiday party decorating sessions, and food assembly lines where nutritional food packages are prepared for children.
How will Global Day of Joy reach children in need? To most effectively reach underserved children, Hasbro will assist more than 100 charitable organizations around the world – many of which are trusted partners the company works closely with during the year -that integrate elements from the company’s core philanthropic pillars – the sparkle of hope, the joy of play and the power of service.
How many toys and games are being donated this holiday season? Through both the Global Day of Joy and other holiday initiatives, Hasbro expects to donate more than 400,000 toys and games valued at over $3 million to children globally.
How else does Hasbro “give back” to communities? The work Hasbro does in the community happens all year long across Hasbro offices worldwide. In 2012, Hasbro contributed nearly $15 million in charitable grants and product donations, and more than 20,000 hours of employee volunteerism to charitable organizations around the world.
What is “Team Hasbro”? Team Hasbro is the company’s employee volunteer program. Hasbro gives its employees four hours of paid time off each month to volunteer with organizations that benefit children.
