Post Title: Lettings Caretaker

Scale: B (paid pro-rata) plus enhancement for Sunday working

Hours of Work: Sunday’s during term time

Main Job Purpose:

To deal with pre-planned lettings taking place on Sunday each week.

Key Responsibilities:

● To greet visitors and be available to advise on general housekeeping and health and safety matters, for example exit evacuation in the event of a fire. ● To deal with queries or minor problems. ● To direct visitors to the appropriate area of the school. ● To undertake porterage duties, to move furniture to required configurations and set up any necessary equipment. ● To ensure the facilities are clean and safe to use at all times. ● To return the premises to its usual layout and clean designated areas after each letting. ● To carry out pool plant operations and cleaning of swimming pool. ● To ensure the premises are secure after each let. ● To secure the premises and contents including the operation of fire and security alarms. ● In the absence of senior caretaking staff, to open the premises including disabling the security alarm system. ● To undertake general duties as directed by the school caretaking team/Lettings Administrator. This may include but not limited to; general cleaning, tidying of store rooms and the safe storage of equipment and materials, snow clearance etc. ● To respond to customer queries and complaints in a sympathetic manner and refer any unresolved issues to the appropriate person. ● To ensure, as far as possible, that customers abide by the terms of the letting. ● To work within the rules and regulations as set out in the schools lettings policy and procedures, and all relevant health and safety requirements. ● To report any incidences of misuse of premises, damage to premises, or failure to observe health and safety requirements by staff, students, or outside hirers to immediately.

Person Specification: The appointed candidate will:

Be able to communicate necessary information effectively. Undertake required Health and Safety courses as specified by the line manager. Undertake specific training for the safe use of equipment and chemicals. Remain calm in difficult situations.
