I Do It: Make a chart based of school subjects. Teacher models by using sentence structure.

We Do It: Students choose their favorite subject using the same sentence structure

You Do It: Students draw their favorite food. Page 48, Moving into English, See Copies Materials

Tuesday: Objective: Students will be able to use a sentence pattern to express likes and dislikes. Topic Specific Vocabulary: hobbies. Free time, school subjects, food Grammatical Forms: Conjunctions to contrast Prompts: What do you like to do in your free time? Responses: I like _____, but I don’t like ______.

I Do It: Using a menu, teacher models prompt and response. What do you like to eat? I like______, but I don’t like ______.

We Do It: Partner work – Work in pairs to practice the structure for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

You Do It: page 48, moving into English, Copied Materials Partners using pictures and words select their favorite food using the structure. Wednesday Objective: Students will be able to use a sentence pattern to express likes and dislikes. Topic Specific Vocabulary: Animals Grammatical Forms: Conjunctions, Adverbs, Adjectives Prompts: Tell me what animals you (do or don’t like) like. Why or why not? Tag questions, You like the lion, don’t you? I Do It: Teacher models using picture p 61. Tag questions and sentence structure.

We Do It: Partner work – using the same sentence

You Do It: Using unit 5 in Carousel, activity picture, Chapter 4. Students will practice sentence structure in partner groups. As students are leaving teachers asks for the structure.

Thursday Objective: Students will be able to use a sentence pattern to express likes and dislikes. Topic Specific Vocabulary: Characters in a book Grammatical Forms: Conjunctions, Adjectives, Adverbs Prompts: Which character is your favorite? Why? Which character is your least favorite? Why? Responses: I like ______because… I don’t like ______because…

I do it: Read Aloud: ______List adjectives to discribe four characters.

We do it: Using four corners, students choose their favorite (least favorite) character and practice sentence structure.

You do it: Divvide the class into two groups. Teacher assigns one group to describe and invented character by using adjectives displayed. We like _____ because he is ______.
