Supporting Material: Please briefly describe any supporting material (script, drawings, renderings, video, sound samples, etc.) you are submitting for the proposed work. Please provide links (to YouTube, Flickr, etc.) or email attachments with this application. Note that The Brick cannot accept physical scripts, DVDs, etc. unless special arrangements are made. Video links of workshops, previous works and previous runs are VERY IMPORTANT if we are not familiar with your work.

Do you plan to perform under the Actors’ Equity Showcase Code? (Companies are responsible for filing appropriate paperwork and complying with all Equity requirements, including volunteer insurance.) Technical Information: Sets: What set pieces will your production require, if any? Large set pieces are discouraged for a festival setting. Some may be accommodated, however. Do these pieces require storage at the theater or can they be taken away after each performance? How much space would they require? Do you require anything to be affixed to a wall, curtain or ceiling? This is extremely discouraged in a festival setting. Some attachments may be accommodated, however, if they are simple and cause no potential damage.

Props: What props will your production require? Do these prop pieces require storage at the theater or can they be taken away after each performance? If left at the theater, how much space would they require?

Costumes: It is recommended that all productions take home all costumes at the end of each performance. Some storage may be accommodated, however. Would your production require costume storage? Please describe all costume needs, with details about size, if storage is requested.

Lights: Generally The Brick provides a basic repertory lighting plot for all productions to share. This plot will include a warm wash, a cool wash and at least one ICue for single spotlight specials without gel. There will probably be some colored gel options. However, no changing of gels or focusing of instruments will take place during any festival and during most other . Please describe any lighting design elements your production would require which would not be covered under a basic festival repertory lighting plot.

The Brick does not provide Lighting Designers or Board Ops for your show. The Brick does have contacts with several independent professional Lighting Designers and Board Ops. Your production can SUPPLY ITS OWN Lighting Designer and Board Op or you may hire one of those referred by The Brick (the rates are provided by each Designer or Board Op).

Do you anticipate requiring a reference for an available Lighting Designer or Board Op?

Sound: All sound cues should be placed on a readable CD for your Tech Booth Operator. If you wish to run cues off of a laptop computer or MP3 player (iPod, etc.), you may do so. However, you must provide the laptop computer (nothing larger) or MP3 player and one member of your company to operate it. Please describe your sound design:

Exclusivity: The Brick Theater, Inc. asks that all productions play only at The Brick (and not at other New York venues) one (1) month prior to the start of the festival or run and one (1) month after the close of the festival or run, unless alternative arrangements are made with The Brick (workshops excepted). It is fine to apply to other theaters or festivals with the same proposed production, but should you accept an invitation to perform at The Brick, please consider your acceptance as an agreement to said exclusivity. Please do not agree to perform at The Brick pending word of acceptance to another festival or theater at a later date. Other theaters and festivals may have similar exclusivity clauses that would require the withdrawal of your production from The Brick. Withdrawing from The Brick after the acceptance date costs The Brick time and money to reschedule and renders inaccurate all publicity materials developed up to that point. Do you agree to these terms? Artist’s Fee/Production Costs:

The compensation for each production in the festival is an artist's fee equal to 50% of that show's box office (i.e. 50% of its ticket sales), which is paid after the conclusion of the festival. The Brick does not provide any up front production subsidy or commission, and each show is responsible for covering the show's production costs (including any travel and lodging arrangements). Each show must also comply with any visa requirements: While The Brick will provide any necessary letters confirming acceptance into the festival, we do not pay any visa fees or related legal expenses.
