Cell Phone Policy of Bosmansdam High School

APPROVED CELL PHONE POLICY OF BOSMANSDAM HIGH SCHOOL

1. No student may have a cell phone in his/her possession, his/her person or his/her school bag during official school hours. Should there be an emergency; the grade head will contact parents. 2. No student may use a cell phone during official school hours. 3. If a student allows another student to use his/her phone or to keep his/her phone, the phone will still be confiscated. 4. Students, who wish to bring cell phones to school, must hand it in during the register class period to the register teacher. The phones will be kept in a safe in the classroom. 5. Late comers must hand their cell phones at the Time Out office or at the copy room. 6. The phones of students who do not hand in their cell phones will be confiscated until the end of the term. This includes the battery and sim card of the phone. 7. Refusal to hand in such phones will lead to immediate suspension. 8. Searches for cell phones, banned substances and dangerous weapons may be undertaken when it is deemed necessary. 9. Students must collect their phones within 10 minutes of the end of the school day from their register teacher. Should a student not collect the phone within 10 minutes from the end of the school day, the phone can be collected the next afternoon. 10. It is the responsibility of the students to mark their cell phones. 11. Confiscated cell phones will be returned at the end of the term. 12. The school accepts no responsibility for any lost phones. GOEDGEKEURDE SELFOONBELEID VAN DIE HOëRSKOOL BOSMANSDAM

1. Geen leerder mag ‘n selfoon in sy/haar besit of aan sy/haar persoon of in sy/haar skoolsak gedurende skoolure hê nie. In geval van nood kan die graadhoof die ouer kontak. 2. Geen leerder mag ‘n selfoon gedurende amptelike skoolure gebruik nie. 3. Indien ‘n leerder ‘n ander leerder toestemming gee om ‘n foon te gebruik of te hou, sal dit gekonfiskeer word. 4. Leerders wat selfone skool toe wil bring, moet dit gedurende registerperiode aan die registeronderwyser oorhandig. Die selfoon sal in die klas in ‘n kluis bewaar word. 5. Laatkommers moet hul selfone by die Time Out-kantoor of by die kopieërkamer inhandig. 6. Gekonfiskeerde selfone sal tot die einde van die betrokke kwartaal gehou word. Dit sluit die battery en die sim-kaart van die foon in. 7. Weiering om die foon te oorhandig, sal tot onmiddellike skorsing lei. 8. Leerders mag deursoek word vir selfone, gevaarlike wapens en verbode middels. 9. Leerders moet hul selfone binne 10 minute aan die einde van die dag by die registeronderwyser afhaal. Indien ‘n leerder die selfoon nie betyds kan afhaal nie, kan hy/sy die foon die volgende middag kry. 10. Dit is die verantwoordelikheid van die leerder om sy/haar selfoon te merk om sodoende die korrekte foon terug te kry. 11. Gekonfiskeerde selfone sal aan die einde van die kwartaal terugbesorg word. 12. Die skool aanvaar geen verantwoordelikheid vir verlore selfone nie. 13. Leerlinge mag deursoek word vir die besit van selfone, onwettige middels en gevaarlike datums
