EXAM PREPARATION: THE 8-DAY STUDY PLAN
1. Look on your syllabus and identify and write down all due dates and exam dates on a Semester Planner or calendar.
2. Assign each class a color to help you keep track of each exam.
3. Find out what information you are responsible for (chapters 5 & 6, everything in November etc.) by checking your syllabus
4. Find out if there are any old exams available. Don’t wait for a study guide to be provided….
5. Divide information you are responsible for into 4 equal parts. This includes lecture notes, book notes, etc. Look at your syllabus for a guide.
6. Label the parts you are responsible for: A,B,C, D
7. Count backwards 8 days—this is your starting point.
8. Day 1: Thoroughly review all material in Part A. Make concept cards, review sheets, meet with tutor, instructor, study group. Identify main points within this area. Quiz yourself.
9. Day 2: Repeat instructions for day 1 for Part B.
10. Day 3: Repeat instructions for Part C.
11. Day 4: Repeat instructions for Part D.
12. Day 5: Review ALL parts A,B, C, D fully
13. Day 6: Review ALL parts A,B, C, D fully
14. Day 7: Review ALL parts A,B, C, D fully
15. Day 8: Review ALL parts A,B, C, D fully
16. You can also mix it up: AB, CD, AC, BD, AD, BC etc.
