M Art Meets Music: Upcoming Performance and Painted Violins A
F The Florida Intergenerational Chamber Orchestra will unveil their painted violin display
O to the public during their concerts on Friday, Dec 14 and Friday, Dec 21 at the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton. The mall is located at 1500 Glades Road in Boca Raton. The A performances and violin display will take place as part of the Simon Mall Holiday R Concert Series. The program will take place in the Nordstrom Wing on Friday, T December 14th from 8:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday, December 21st from 7:00-8:00 p.m. the S program is free and seating is limited. E Chafin Music Center of Lake Worth has donated six unpainted violins to the H FLIOA. Six community artists have decorated them. At a later date they will be C auctioned off to benefit the orchestra and another local charity. The community artists R have created original artwork in hopes that these violins will generate interest for the O
FLIOA’s upcoming concerts this season. The artists from Boca Raton are Dr. Roger
L Spotts (a bass clarinet player with the FLIOA), Sheila Davison, Bernard Pinkus, “Art
A from the Heart” Students from Childrens Learning Center, Mona Gordon of Boynton
N Beach, Doris Krueger of Pompano Beach. The orchestra is currently seeking other public venues to display these beautiful and unique decorated violins. For further information O

R The Chamber Orchestra (mostly a string ensemble) will perform Holiday music
E and Classics to Broadway selections. As always, the FLIOA’s mission is to
N bridge the generations with music and performance through mentorship. The
E wonderful mix of amateurs, professionals, beginners, and experts – young and old
G – encourages, nurtures and promotes closer relationships between the generations.
R Founder and conductor Lorraine Marks, has been dedicated to the belief that
E music is a universal language. Prior to the creation of the FLIOA, Ms Marks
T founded the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra, which has won numerous
N awards and recognition in the media including CBS, NBC, and Family Circle I Magazine. Recently, she was the recipient of the "Woman of Distinction" award from the Boca Soroptimist International.
