94% to 100% A 90% to 93% A- 87% to 89% B+ 84% to 86% B 80% to 83% B- 77% to 79% C+ 74% to 76% C 70% to 73% C- 67% to 69% D+ 64% to 66% D 60% to 63% D- 59% and lower F

Reading: - One third of the grade is book reports – logs and vocabulary post-it notes - One third of the grade is vocabulary – tests from vocabulary post-it notes (Tests are in students’ vocabulary portfolio) - One third of the grade is reading tests

English Language Conventions: - One third of the grade is the average of the weekly spelling units o Units 1-8 are in trimester one o Units 9-16 are in trimester two o Units 17-24 are in trimester three - One third of the grade is spelling in every-day writing - One third of the grade is an average of the conventions tests

Writing: - Average of journal score and all writing assignments (Writing assignments are in students’ writing portfolio)

Mathematics: - 33% of the grade is the weekly homework quizzes - 67% of the grade is the chapter tests

Science: - Half the grade is class work and notes - Half the grade is the chapter tests

Social Studies: - Half the grade is the chapter tests - 10 % of the grade is homework - 25% of the grade is packets - 15% of the grade is projects Health: - Quizzes from Health units

Physical Education: - Two-thirds of the grade is on fitness – the students’ ability to complete push-ups, sit-ups, and running - One-third of the grade is on participation and preparation – preparation includes wearing correct shoes and removing jackets and sweatshirts before class

Technology: - Trimester one is the students’ Type to Learn scores - Trimester two and three are from computer use assessments completed in the computer lab

Art: - Rubric assessment on art projects (Some art projects are in students’ writing portfolio)
