Course Specifics: Exams: Examination days/times are listed in the “Course Overview” section. The exams will be based on assigned textbook readings, study guide questions and video lessons. The exams will primarily be multiple- choice questions. The lowest exam score will be dropped prior to grade calculation. However, there will be no make-up exams. If you miss an exam, a zero will be entered as a score. The zero on that exam will then be your lowest score and will be dropped (assuming you have taken all the other exams and earned a score higher than zero). You should inform the instructor of any exam-date conflicts as soon as possible. Failure to do so diminishes the possibility of other accommodations.
*********Important: You must take Exam 1 or notify Dr. LeBlanc of your enrollment status!********* Note: You will need to arrive to exam sessions on time. You will not be allowed to take the exam if you are more than 10 minutes late. Exams are scheduled for one hour. Please notify the instructor should you need extra time or other accommodations. You will need to bring a scantron (#882-E) and a number 2 pencil to the exam. These are available for purchase at the Bakersfield College bookstore (check hours of operation). You should obtain your scantrons and pencils as soon as possible, as they will not be available from the instructor at the time of the exam. Please don’t arrive to the sessions unprepared, as you will not be allowed to take the exam. You can obtain the results of your performance by e-mail, my web-page or on the following exam date. If you are unable to attend an exam, please contact the instructor at least two weeks prior to the scheduled exam date. Cheating will automatically result in an “F”.
Assignments: You will be required to answer, and turn in for credit, all of the questions contained in each study guide chapter. Partial work will not be accepted. Your work is due at the beginning of each exam session and no late work will be accepted.
Passing the Class: As you peruse the syllabus you will notice it is divided into unit sections. Each unit section contains reading assignments, relevant video lesson information and study guide assignments. Each of these components is designed to facilitate a deeper thinking and understanding of the material. It is in your best interest to work through the chapter review questions, study guide, publisher’s questions and activities, and posted lectures as a way to prepare for the exams. Please contact Dr. LeBlanc if you have any questions or concerns. Course Overview
