The Hershey Company has several positions available for Assistant Developers, entry level developer/programmer opportunities within Information Services.

As an Assistant Developer, you will develop, maintain and support value-adding technology solutions in support of our business partners (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, etc.). You will support all phases of the project life cycle including understanding business requirements, translating business requirements into technical specifications, development, testing, and post implementation support. Those holding this position work both independently and as members of project teams. You will develop and demonstrate a broad understanding of multiple technologies and will be expected to understand and apply technology and process standards. Some of the technologies you will have the opportunity to enhance include SAP, Teradata, Cognos, Business Objects, Business Warehouse, and Java.

Opportunities for advancement include progression through a ladder of increasing responsibility as a developer and analyst positions with additional progression to project manager, business process manager and applications manager.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math or other related technical major with some relevant coursework in computer programming/ applications. Participation in Internship or Co-op program preferred.

Experience: With Bachelor's degree, this is the entry level. Equivalent work experience of 0-2 years within applications development or comparable area.

Preferred skills include knowledge of the following technologies: - Relational Database Scripting (prefer Teradata or Oracle) - Business Intelligence Reporting (prefer Cognos, SAP Business Warehouse, Business Objects) - Web technologies including Java, Java Script, .Net, Skyway, Visual Basic - UNIX scripting - Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word), including VBA scripting
