Job Experience: 8/1985-present Physics and Engineering Professor, Houston Community College, 10141 Cash Road, Stafford, Texas 77477 Duties as full-time instructor include the following: Teach all levels of physics and engineering courses offered at HCC, including College Physics I & II, University Physics I and II, Physics Labs I & II, Engineering Statics, Engineering Dynamics, Engineering Strength of Materials, Introduction to Engineering ,initially system-wide, then since 1990 at Southwest College, (previously taught mathematics courses, including College Algebra, Plane Trigonometry, Developmental Mathematics, (1306, 1308, etc.,) in addition to teaching physics and engineering for five years before concentrating in teaching physics and engineering courses since 1990). Design course curricula, objectives, and experiments, direct students in lab experiments, research projects, advise students in course selections, evaluate students work, serve in numerous committees including hiring committees for Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics, participate in numerous Professional Development workshops and programs, completed Faculty Certification in Technology requirements and attended numerous Student Learning Outcomes Workshop and Assessment workshops held at Central College, West Loop Campus and Systems location.
8/07-8/11 Physics Discipline Chair/Physics Program Coordinator Discipline Duties: Convened and chaired physics discipline committee meetings, lead in discipline course revisions, and textbooks evaluations and adoptions, did Annual
1 Progress Report for physics discipline as well Program Evaluations,(two cycles), represent discipline in curriculum matters, assist department chairs in physics related issues; prepare meetings’ agenda, write and dissimilate meetings’ minutes. Report directly to Vice Chancellor for Instruction and Director of Instructional Initiatives. Prior to this latest tenure, have also served as Discipline Chair in 8/2000- 5/01
4/1991- 12/2004 Part Time Campus Coordinator Administrator Southwest College Campuses: (Paul Revere Galleria and West Loop) Duties included the following: overseeing campus facility utilizations for all academic- related activities, as well as public usage, supervision of staff and, security personnel; coordination of registration processes, and being accountable for all monies collected during registration as well as making bank runs to deposit all monies collected at the campuses during registration. Besides, I mediate between students and faculty members in disputes; counseled students, and, represented administration during off hours on college related matters at the campuses. I reported directly to Campus Coordinator/Manager.
8/1991- 5/1998 Department Head/Chair (Physics, Engineering and Geology) Houston Community College, Southwest College Duties included: scheduling of all physics, geology and engineering courses in the computer; screening, recruitment, orientation, mentoring and training full-time and part-time instructors, staffing classes, with qualified instructors, ordering of equipment, supervision of personnel, advising students, convening and chairing Departmental meetings, projection of departmental budgets, supervision of both full- time and adjunct instructors in the department. Coordinated grade check processes at the end of every semester. Was the first to introduce free tutoring of physics courses to our students, which has since been adopted by HCC system, evaluated individual faculty members in the department, signed purchase orders. Besides, I represented the department in all related matters and was accountable for all department issues. I reported directly to Dean of Instruction.
6/1998- 8/1998 Coordinator: Mathematics, Science and Technology Division, Southwest College Coordinated all the instructional activities for all science Departments in the college, including biology, chemistry, geology, physics; and mathematics, engineering and technology, with the help of department heads, participated in budget forecast to pay faculty and staff, supervised faculty and staff in the division, organized grade check-in processes, addressed students complaints, counseled students, made
2 decisions in consultation with department chairs on cut off numbers for each class. I reported directly to dean of instruction.
2/2005- Present Part Time Campus Manager, Southeast College at Rustic Duties include: overseeing of adequate utilizations of facilities for instructional activities and community functions, supervise staff and other personnel, ensure that campus is secured for the safety all campus personnel, address student’s minor complaints, counsel students, assist in registration activities, mediate between students and faculty in disputes.
1/1980-12/1980 Associate Petroleum Engineer Eaton Operating, Houston, Texas Duties included drilling and production of oil wells, evaluation of oil and gas properties for purchase by company, performed oil and gas well analysis, interpreted data, did numerous oral presentations of results to management, supervised personnel, etc.
1/1981 – 7/1985 Petroleum Reservoir Engineer MEDCO Oil and Gas Company Houston, Texas Duties involved drilling and production of oil wells, evaluation of Oil properties for purchase by company, performed oil and gas well analysis, interpreted data, did numerous oral and written presentations of results to management, supervised personnel, etc.

Honors: 1. Nominated multiple times for inclusion and featured in “Who’s Who of Among American Teachers.” 2. Also featured in five local News Papers including: “The Houston Chronicle” and “Fort Bend Sun,.” etc., as outstanding HCC instructors following “Who’s Who nomination.
