PRE-WORK Segment Overview Presentations
The following pre-work for the iFIT class must be completed PRIOR to the first day of the iFIT class.
The Segment Overview portions of the iFIT training are intended to introduce class participants to each of the business segments—Climate and Industrial. These presentations are prepared and delivered by YOU. The SBU FP&A leaders are prepared to assist you with these presentations. Slides from the most recent Analyst Meeting and/or LRP presentations can be used as the basis for your presentation content. Your SBU FP&A leaders can help provide these.
Note: Please do not include discrete financial information or forward looking financial information (i.e., AOP figures). If you plan to highlight growth rates, please use language like ‘mid-single digits’ instead of specific numbers. In general, these presentations are meant to be an overview of the segment to familiarize the rest of your colleagues with products and markets – this is not meant to be a presentation to Finance Leadership or LRP document.
The Segment team assignment and detailed preparation steps below.
The Presentation Preparation Process: 1) A volunteer is needed from each segment team to take the lead for the team. Whoever is interested in this role should volunteer by email to the rest of the segment team members with a copy to Matt Graham. 2) The Segment team lead should then divide up the group so that each SBU is covered in the Segment. Each sub group should then set up a call with the SBU’s FP&A Leader. All sub team participants are to be included on this call. SBU FP&A Leaders are: a. Climate-Trane Commercial North America/EMEIA – Dusty Muckenthaler b. Climate-Residential—Shane Lawrence c. Climate-HVAC Parts—Steve Berchoff d. Climate-Transport North America/EMEIA – David Long e. Climate-Latin America—TBD f. Climate-Asia Pacific—Jenny Ding g. Industrial-Compressed Air – Alex Oliveira h. Industrial-Tools, Fluid & Material Handling— Liz Cloninger i. Industrial-Club Car – Richard Blair 3) Each presentation should include 1 slide about products, 1 for channel and 1-2 slides about the SBU’s strategies. Each Business should use 5-10 minutes with the entire Segment targeting 45 minutes with an additional 15 minutes for questions/discussion. 4) When meeting with the FP&A Leaders, discuss various aspects of the SBU’s products and key facts that would be interesting to share in your presentation. 5) After the meeting with the FP&A leaders, the segment team should get together to finalize the SBU presentations. 6) The segment team should also determine Roles and Responsibilities of each team participant with regard to the presentation so that the presentation will flow smoothly, while also allowing for multiple people on the team to participate. You will have one hour for your team’s presentation followed by Q&A. Please plan accordingly. 7) Final presentations must be sent to Matt Graham no later than February 8, 2016.
